Any deals for marina bay sands?

Me and my wife would be going to Singapore for a day just for a stop over, we want to stay in the marina bay sands hotel. Our date of stay is 18/1/13 and check out on the 19/1. Cheapest I found is $389, is there any cheaper rates out there?

  • I wouldnt think so. I have recently been checking rates on that hotel for that time frame and there was nothing cheaper than your price.

    • +1

The best price is $279 at the moment, but their advance booking window is only 3 months from today, so you'll have to time your booking to encompass January. It will be hit and miss as to whether you can do any better.

Keep in mind that the $359 advertised on the MBS are in Singapore Dollars

Also - Singapore is not 'cheap' like most of Asia - prices are pretty much the same as what you would pay here, and this is arguably the best hotel in SG. Worth it? We thought so for the one night we spent there - riding the gondola in the shopping centre, swimming in the Infinity Pool and having dinner in the Chocolate Only restaurant on the roof :D

      • That IS good, but the time glk2000 wants to travel is during peak season. December onwards to end of Chinese New Year is SUPER peak time. Chinese New year starts in 10th Feburary 2013 so maybe there is something but hotels across Asia are going to be full in general. I'd be tempted to book asap but thats just me, maybe i'm too timid.

      • You can ride in the gondola even if you aren't staying there. I think you can still get up to the roof if you book into a venue up there.

GaryQ - is Ku De Ta still up there?

  • When the Rates to go or Hotel.com %off deals were about a couple of months ago one of them got down to $374, but I have been watching for the last 6 months and agree it never has serious sales. We ended up getting a room in one of the Sentosa hotels from wotif at 50% off normal rates. Considering the prices of rooms across Sg we were pleased with that.

  • You can at least try to book through somewhere that will either give you cashback or FF points, assuming the price is the same through those sites.

IS MBS associated with any hotel chain, like star city or intercontinental? That could be a lead. or maybe there might be a deal via the casino?

  • You might consider springing for a club room. It'll be about an extra $100S more or less. You get drinks in the lounge, food, etc etc. It would really enhance the experience at a relatively small additional amount. I bet you could drink at least $300 worth of grog between two adults, using MBS pricing on cocktails.

  • Here is their inhouse club.

also, if you sign up for email updates, you could get a special offer.

  • I signed up for their program and they were supposed to email me but they haven't.

  • Any update on this?

    Anyone done better recently
