Strange Issue with Logitech K380 Keyboard

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Logitech K380 Bluetooth keyboard to use with my mini PC which is attached to a monitor.

Since then, it’s been working perfectly fine till today when I decided to plug the desktop into my TV to use as a display.

The keyboard seems to be lagging so much, it connects and disconnects on its own and randomly starts typing out of nowhere.

The thing I find strange is that it works perfectly fine with my monitor, I initially assumed it would be a range issue but when I tried using the keyboard on my desktop connected to the monitor from another room about 5m away it worked perfectly fine.

The issue only occurs when I connect the desktop to the TV. Initially, my mouse was causing issues as well till I restarted and now that’s working fine.

The keyboard issue is still there but I don’t believe it’s a keyboard problem. Could be the connectivity between the desktop and the tv but even that is strange.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated I’m just losing brain cells trying to figure out the issue here.

Sounds like your TV's bluetooth chip is crap.

    • But what I don’t understand is that the keyboard is connected to the desktop which is displaying on the tv, similarly the desktop is usually connected to the monitor which I’m guessing doesn’t even have Bluetooth but still works fine because the keyboard isn’t meant to connect to the monitor, that’s what the desktop is for

  • I kind of have/had this issue too. I have the k380 and it would sometimes lag, and get stuck on keys. So it would suddenly repeat letters like thhhhhhiiiiissssssssss. For me, it seems to be a battery issue. I even bought a new keyboard but I didn't like the layout so I swapped back, and then i swapped the batteries out into the k380. Also 'forgot' and reconnected the keyboard. It seems to have fixed itself now. I can't confirm if it definitely is just a matter of swapping out your batteries for fresh ones, but give it a go.

    • I’ll try that, mine starts repeating letters by itself too thanks for the suggestion

  • i get this too on the K370….lagging, going to sleep, poor range & detection
logitech seem to make pretty average low end keyboards these days…it never used to be the case
