Upgrading RAM/SSD on Beelink SEI12 Mini PC

Hi,

Based on a number of recommendations from people on ozBargain, I ended up purchasing a Beelink SEI12 Mini PC off Amazon with i5-1240p, 16GB DDR5 RAM and 500GB SSD.

My experience with this PC has been great so far however, I did notice before buying the product that it can support up to 2TB SSD and 64GB ram.

From watching some youtube videos of people opening up the PC, I noticed the company uses either Crucial or Kingston SSD/RAM, I may be wrong.

Based on my usage so far, the specs are more than sufficient but I was just wondering if anyone else who may have purchased this product has ever upgraded the storage or ram or would know parts are compatible with this machine.

Only asking as I may in the future consider upgrading both storage and ram for effective use with any intensive applications for the purpose of photo editing or storing movies, photos etc.

Thanks

1:41 shows a pretty clear image of the motherboard. Looks like it is very easy to upgrade.
But you will need SODIMM ram and M.2 2230 ssd for it

Make sure it's DDR5 SODIMM, which are quite expensive at the moment.

  • There can be technical reasons that mini PC is limited to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM. There aren't many compatibility issues with RAM these days.

It is unlikely it is limited to a 2TB SSD. You can get bigger M.2 SSDs. You can get faster M.2 SSDs than the slow gen 4 Kingston NV2 they come with. The only possible issue in fitting a bigger faster gen 4 SSD is that the faster they are the more heat they generate, and if I don't know whether the designers of that mini PC have provided the airflow to keep it cool if you work it hard.
