I bought one of these few months ago and it's been great to use in my work setup.
It has a small form factor and the Inbuilt usb c and usb a ports are really handy.

Was checking my orders history and found it at a reduced price, and buying one more. Hence sharing this deal.

OK I am going to ask if there are any deals on better brands than Heymix?

          I think I you’re supposed to provide a link to a deal…

@smartazz104: I am sure they can google the brand name on ozb

I have two baseus 65w for more than a year. Working fine

          • +1

@daoddv: I've had a no brand 65W for 2 years (pretty sure its from the same factory as heymix due to casing dimensions), working fine also.

          • +3

@daoddv: My Heymix is working fire too.

      • +2

I've used the powercube on my travels. Very handy to have

      It's a hot deal. 🔥

Wow, Heymix and fire sales, name a more iconic duo.

  • +4

    Description says fire resistant

    • +16

The charger will survive the fire, your house won't

Ummm is this a good buy or not? i read negative comments about this brand on here so I'm a little confused

    • +4

Its cheap garbage but will work fine for most day to day applications. The comments are people leaning into the meme but the brand earned that meme with some bad failures that were well documented.

I wouldn't use one to charge a demanding laptop, dumping 65w for hours on end can get the 65w heymix chargers really hot, charging a phone should be fine.

From what I've understood across all the post, it these things:

      1) some of their products caught fire, with a fair number of online reviews stating as such
      2) some teardowns have been done on their devices showing that they are not wired correctly and could cause safety issues
      3) they got one product SAA certified and then claim that all their products are, but it is just the same certification reused across all products

        Thanks. Almost bought one. Phew.

Cheers, i will skip this brand

The original powercube is sold by officeworks so it must meet Australian regulations. Kinda pricy though.

Is it jncluding with home and content insurance? Asking for friend

I have a few Heymix products and havent had an issue. Grabbed a couple in this deal to replace some of these vertical tower like powerboards that I previously got at Aldi. These will be a lot smaller.

  • I bought one of these few months ago and it's been great to use in my work setup.

Is that because you work in a cold room and this keeps you warm?

  • +1

Is the Lencent (about $10 more) any better or are they more or less similar?

  • -1

That's what you call a fire 🔥 sale

  • +2

Do people prefer cubes over normal vertical boards / strips? Personally prefer the Xiaomi Power Strip and the specs are very similar, with the Xiaomi having one extra USB-A, and US / China plugs compatibility.

    • I prefer the power squid but can never find it with AU plugs.

  • +1

    Back to full price?

    • Yes

    • Black one still showing discount code.

    • Wait a few more days and they will have another "sale".

  • 26.24 now

  • If it had a figure 8 (2-pin) socket instead of a fixed cable, it would be great for travels - you could match the cable and it wouldn't weight the whole 360g.

    • I think these are great and will test them at home for thermal issues/overheating.
Either they are wired poorly or quality of internals lead to the fires.
I don't know if Heymix is any poorer than others in the same price range.
You pay the (lesser) money, you take your chances.

    • Looks more of a charcoal colour than black.

Some digging that could explain why HEYMIX is so mixed in their quality:
    - Checking this product model (‎LS-801PD) on ERAC: No HEYMIX record, but a very similar model registered by LEISHEN could be relabelled by HEYMIX given this Alibaba listing. This specific product should be safe to use if it's the same one registered.
    - HEYMIX seemed to recycle the model number from registered RCM products for their very different products - or it could be a mistake listing wrong model number? (unlikely). They had a few products having RCM marks with records on ERAC though.

I reckon HEYMIX is mainly outsourcing OEM products - some had authentic safety testings and some didn't. I'm curious to know which specific models folks had issues with so that we could check the legitimacy of their safety marks. Sellers can put on whatever marks but I wouldn't trust any until they're listed on public databases.
