Optus, Medibank and Qantas can join that club too.

  • You can add Breville to that list. Recently had their coffee machine break down after 10 months of use, been in "repair" for the last 2 months. No coffee machine for 2 months, does that classify as torture?

considering the number of customers, the percentage of complaints would be low for samsung
i doubt tru water would have as many customers than samsung

    • It's apples and oranges being a service provider though, I have bought about 3 samsung products in my life (lesson learned on that), Tru water need to supply 365 days a year or people get pissed.

I'm surprised at the lack of complaints about Qantas, really. People buy a new phone every couple of years whereas I imagine a good chunk of people fly on Qantas at least once a year and their service is craptacular these days.

Samsung electronics though, that includes everything, monitors, laptops, fridges, tv, washing machines, vacuums, etc

i'm surprised sydney trains aint on there! i would have a complaint every day

        • Yup, I've had a phone, washing machine and TV by them. Never again.

Samsung are probably not the worst company in terms of % of sales, I totally agree, but it's still pretty bad to be number one.

I had the unpleasant experience of a prolonged warranty fight with Samsung about a 3yr old TV. Recurring fault, couple of repairs later, in the end couldn't get parts to repair etc etc

Was an absolute nightmare to get a refund but got there in the end, I am pretty stubborn but I reckon most people would have given up. It wasted many many hours of my time.

Samsung was the worst warranty experience I have ever had with any company.

  • No surprise!
Had bought a Samsung fridge, had a manufacturing defect of ice buildup. Samsung repaired 4 times for the same issue in the first three years (not to mention the trouble I had dealing with Samsung support each time). Samsung support advised we won't support you further for this product "considering the age" of the hardware. Had to replace the fridge in less than 4 years. I've decided I would rather buy what is considered to be a "cheap" product/brand than buying any Samsung products including Galaxy phones. Never Again!

and Yes, now I will support iPhones over Samsung phones. Period!

  • Bought a Samsung TV end of 2021.

An extremely noticeable area of the TV's faulty LED panel had already gone out as soon as I turned the stupid TV on.

If not for Hardly Normal replacing without issue, I would've refunded the TV instantly.

  • Samsung fridge, shocking experience.
Bought brand new for a few grand about 3 months ago. Has been making a very loud huming sound and motor sound, took a recording sent to Samsung - they said that’s standard fridge sound.
It’s definitely not, I’ve owned many fridges and not once heard sounds like this from a fridge.
After so much back and forth they finally agreed to have a technician come out, still waiting for that technician a month later.
Many many hours of my life wasted and still not even closed to resolved.
Will never buy a Samsung fridge again

    • Some late model fridges are 'noisy' compared to the older type.

    • My Samsung used to make almost a grinding noise when the compressor kicked in and then at night you could hear it bubbling away, agreed I'll never get a Samsung again too

  • Awful Samsung support was one of biggest reasons I switched to iPhone.

My Note10 would often turn off randomly when I would put it on charge if under 10% battery, just gave me new charger which made no difference. Meanwhile Apple replaced my 11 Pro battery for free this year, despite being past the 24 month warranty. I wasn't even original owner of it.

Also failed to fix issues with S20 FE (purple patch on LCD; couldn't see it even though HN gave them pictures of it) and Gear S2 (band tearing after just few weeks of use; no replacement)

  • not surprising, had a wonderful experience myself : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/757395

Telstra could also be a frontrunner. Got some items from their marketplace in July, 3 faulty products sent back in January and still 0 word about it even after escalating 2 weeks ago and being promised a phone call 'in a few days'. They've had my items longer than ive had them….

  • I posted this data in a thread a few months ago.

I also had a bad experience getting a full refund for my S20 FE a couple years ago. Took a bunch of long emails to convince them that an unresponsive touchscreen wasn't a minor fault. Their internal communication is abysmal. I would never buy a Samsung appliance, nor would I buy something from their online store anymore - as we all know sometimes they just can't be bothered to send some orders. In many ways Samsung Aus are despicable.
