prescription sunglasses

I have been looking for quit a while for some cheap designer sunglasses. Ive developed some serious deep wrinkles due to squinting. The low budget ones just dont fit comfortably and the quality leaves alot to be desired. If someone can help with clearance sales online or in store (preferably southwest Sydney).
Thanks :-)

  • You'd probably be looking for quite a while longer if you're after prescription designer sunglasses on the cheap… then again, what's your understanding of "cheap" when it comes to sunglasses?

If you wear contacts you could look for some cheap sunglasses (<$50), but if you need to wear glasses you can consider getting them tinted or with transition lenses (The Optical Superstore are currently doing a range of these for $200, and I got a pair done for $155 recently, though transition lenses are not meant to be a replacement for proper sunglasses), or look for frames that come with a clip-on/flip-up sunglass attachment (fairly limited range though).

The other option is to get something like Fitovers, which as the name suggests, fit over your regular prescription glasses.

  • Not sure about cheap but wow - they have some really great glasses - everyone always comments on my frames, I got them at Major Eyes on Majors Bay Road at Concord. They have a great optometrist and the lady who prepares the prescription glasses is really helpful. They have frames that I haven't seen anywhere else. Sometimes they have some that they are getting rid of cheap - end of line or something. I travel from south west Sydney to them if that's any recommendation, really well out of my way but the service is excellent.

  • Thanks qoup, that sounds fair. When a said awhile, should have been abit more specific, how does 10 years sound, hav gone through some finanical stife, but hey, a mother of four under 7, I put my needs last. Thanks though, your reply is much appreciated, cheers.
Miss Dior, if that isnt designer enough, I dont know what is, lol
Thanks so much, I will try them out, funny thing haved a few weeks ago, my toddler son playfully damaged my frameless glasses so, I walked into the nearest optometrist in bankstown to get them adjusted, they were really friendly and helpful. I asked about there a pair of prescrip' sunnies and she said " oh they suit you sooo much and just for you, today, I can do them for ONLY $5**.00…"
She made to sound like its loose change:-!
