Cheapest Northern Hemisphere Ski Holiday

Looking for some tips on what would be the cheapest Northern Hemisphere Skiing holiday this Northern Winter.

I'm guessing it's Japan, but if so, which resort?

I'd consider China possibly. Or the USA if I could find a cheap flight.

-edit- Ideally Beginner and Intermediate friendly Green and Blue runs.

This year we went to Japan as a family of 2 adults and 4 kids. We found Hakuba enjoyable. Lift tickets about $70/day. The resort comprises 5 or 6 mountains though so you need to consider catching the free busses between accomodation and mountains. I had two kids who hadn't skiied before (and two that had). We caught the bullet train from Tokyo to Nagano, then the bus up. Cheap dinners from the supermarket.

Iran is a good option if you are willing.

    North Korea

There's currently a special deal as part of the major festivities for Kim Jong Il’s Birthday (Day of the Shining Star) !!!

  • Literally the cheapest?

    Kashmir has some good skiing.

Direct flights in to Rawalpindi/New Delhi/Islamabad on some low cost carrier airlines and a short ground transfer from there. Lift tickets and accommodation are much cheaper than Japan. $180 AUD per day inc accommodation, breakfast and dinner, lift tickets, lessons, equipment hire, clothing hire and airport transfers..

Gulmarg is rated Asia’s 5th best ski destination (according to their website) https://gulmargskiresort.com/
