Spacetalk - Cheapest Option

Looking for the cheapest way to get connected on Spacetalk Adventurer.
From what i can see ATM, Catch Connect 12 month SIM (with 8%) CashRewards + the month subs for SpaceTalk seem to be my best option.
$89 x 2 - 8% + $6pm = $250 per year.

Has anyone managed to do better than this?

  • Does the 'x 2' in your equation refer to 2 devices?

I'd like to know the best option too. I've been using a 28 day Boost plan until I can find something better.

Amaysim have sometimes done $60 for 12 months but it's rare.

I'm wondering if the Amaysim PAYG plan might be the best option? 5c per MB. Based on usage data, our son's watch has only used about 100MB in the first 6 weeks. Then there's 12c for calls (per min) and texts. Depends on how much it's used.

    • I'm considering going with this option and waiting for the next $60 deal. Then when that expires revert to PAYG until another good deal comes up…

    • Correct…two devices.
I end up saving around $80pa rather than Jumpy SIM plan.

  • I had the Adventurer 1 since end 2022 and jumped onto the JumpySIM backed by telstra network (now called Spacetalk Mobile apparently).
If u go with another provider there’s no way to avoid paying $72 for the app sub annually.
So I figured for peace of mind, $165 annually is ok I guess, at least not much diff to using the $89 Catch mentioned in OP’s description. ($165-$72= $93)

Yes, I agree it's not a bad deal. I'm hoping to get a second watch for my other kid though and then you don't get the same savings because the app subscription is the same price whether one or two devices

You can get a partial discount for the app subscription with apple/google cards.

I use woolies long term 12 month SIM plans for my kids and assign each number to a different woolies rewards account. Gives me 10% off groceries 2x per month, which pays for their mobile plan & the app subscription.

  • Great watches btw! Have had the Adventurer 1 since it was launched almost 3 years ago and just got the Adventurer 2 for my other kid. Gives them a ton more independence!
