Searching Amazon AU as Seller on amazon.com.au

Hi all,

I order for work from amazon and there used to be a feature where you can select amazon as the seller. I used this a lot because I need a tax invoice and they always provide one but a lot of sellers on amazon don't so I need to filter out other sellers.

Is there a trick to search items that are shipped AND sold by Amazon AU?

Can't post a pic here, but on the screen with products on the left sidebar if you scroll down there should be a list of sellers where you can toggle Amazon AU

    • The option is called Amazon Global Store. if you do next search, results seems reset, thus you need to select it again.

      • That's global indeed, but the OP wanted Amazon AU only

        • I do not see AU only option though.

          • @foxmulder: Thanks, that's the issue, there used to be the option to pick Amazon AU exactly where @od1n said

            • @Obake: The Global one includes AU in most results and any purchases from any non-AU Amazon as sellers will generate tax invoice automatically anyway.

            • @Obake: Hm I just played a bit and looks like that option is not available when you use the global search, but if you pick the department first then it's back to the list. It looks like a bug tbh

  • Note if the sellers are Amazon US, UK, etc, tax invoices are also provided automatically on shipment.

The same if the sellers are third party based on overseas with products come from overseas. But this one is harder to identify, I only know based on experience.

For AU third party sellers you can Google their name + ABN to know if they are GST registered or not. But I do find sometimes are just hassles. They don't know if they need to provide one, took a long time, they thought Amazon need to provide it for them, provide a doc which may not qualify as tax invoice, etc.

    • which may not qualify as tax invoice, etc.

      or it may….

You just need a proof of purchase, the seller is not required to have an ABN or charge GST.

I was referring to purchases with those GST registered sellers. In the case they were asked for a tax invoice, they need to provide it within 30 days. To claim GST you need to have proper tax invoice doc. ATO states exceptions to a sale of $82.50 or less - the sellers were not required to do so. For this amount or less, you can just use Amazon's printable order summary as proof of purchase and still claim GST - I personally still ask - just to get proper docs.

but a lot of sellers on amazon don't

I've never had one that refused. You just need to ask for it via contacting the seller. There's even a shortcut for requesting receipts.

    • I have had sellers refuse, or not reply, or send a dodgy form with no ABN or enough detail to keep the finance dept. happy. I want to avoid asking for one and prefer to buy from someone that will include one with the order.

      • I have had sellers refuse, or not reply

I've never had a refusal, but I've sometimes had to ask twice.

      • or send a dodgy form with no ABN

        They don't need an ABN.

  • If anyone is still following along, I found out how to filter search results to Amazon AU as the seller.

    1. do a search as normal
    2. add the following at the end of the URL of the search result:
      &emi=ANEGB3WVEVKZB

    another way
    1. create a new bookmark shortcut
    2. add the following as the URL:
    javascript:(function() { window.location.href += '&emi=ANEGB3WVEVKZB' })()
    3. search amazon as normal
    4. click the bookmark shortcut
