any office chair experts have an opinion on how this would rank against similar entry/mid chairs from ikea/officworks etc?

    • Better than officeworks chairs.

I bought the higher grade Cascade Mesh chair coming up on two years ago.

The plastic Lumbar support broke within 6 months. And the plastic/rubber arm rests have split and starting to fall apart. Seat cushion is still fine, but defanetly flatter than what it was new. Wheels and frame are still fine.

      • Sounds about as average or worse than a random office works chair if plastic supports break so soon and arm rests split and fall apart.

Can only throw in our 2 cents here that after selling tens of thousands of Cascades over many years these issues are not at all commonplace, and were they to occur would be fixed under warranty. There was a small batch of chairs with a faulty backrest that caused issues, and they were all replaced in good faith when customers reached out.

Having used the Bianca, I truly believe you would be hard pressed to find a better chair delivered for this price today. It may not be a Steelcase Gesture but it's not $1,600 either…

          • @EpicOfficeFurniture: Can you confirm a couple of things?

            1. Does the Tilt mechanism with locking and tension control mean that I can lean the chair back, then lock it in that position? (Reclined)

            2. Are these chairs quiet while in use? I have an Officeworks chair which creaks when I lean back in it, and one of my main reasons for wanting another chair is so that it doesn't creak while I move around on it.

            • @DeToxin: Hey @lyle88,

The chair only locks in the upright position, but you can adjust the tension of the recline to provide more resistance if desired.
And no the chair does not creak in our experience!

              • @EpicOfficeFurniture: Do you have model with a high back and removable arms which is able to lock into the recline position?

                • +1

@DeToxin: We have dozens of chairs to choose from but off the top of my head there are 3 that meet those requirements - the Merida, the Arco, and the Orca. Feel free to reach out to our customer service team for anything further.

Got the Cascade chair a couple of years ago, the great thing about it was that it made me go and buy a Steelcase Gesture after a few months.

        Not sure that's a positive review :)

  • Follow up on this. I got one of these chairs. Seems like a good chair for the price. Its not going to compete with a Steelcase or Herman Miller obviously, but if you're shopping in the $100-$250 mark from Officeworks for example, this feels like a better value chair option than those.

Obviously haven't put it to a long term test yet, but first day butt impressions, no issues :)

  • @EpicOfficeFurniture just tried to use the code and no longer working, is there another?
