Myer price matching for TV's

Hi Guys,

I know David Jones does, but does Myer price match for TV's ?

I can redeem both my frequent flyer points and credit card points to almost $2k of myer vouchers. Looking at the Samsung TV's at JB / Good guys etc and they're available at Myer too for considerably more. Not in a rush to get it (looking at December sales..)

So will my plan work ?

Thanks !

  • Haven't got any thing from Myer since the last 6 months. But before that, I got them to match The Good Guys price for a juicer I wanted and they happily did it. I would assume they will then match the price for TV's as well.

  • yea,i believe they do price match

  • Myer refused to price match JB on a TV as they claim it was below their cost price. They offered a discount but was still $100 more than JB's advertised price.

    • But they might budge on their delivery cost. And given that you'd more than likely be able to claim a $20 gift card after the TV purchase, I'd rather pay a bit extra and deal with Myer than JB.

  • I my opinion- not that you asked, using QFF points and credit card points are the WORST way to use them up- using them on actual flights, especially international business class, is the best way to go. Just save ur points for a rainy day amd pay cash (with CC) for the TV! Before you know it, you will be heading RTW business class- tickets that are worth maybe $15000 each!
Ill shut up now, as this was not ur question…….

    • Everyone is different, I'd never want to use my points for business or first class tickets to anywhere. No seat on a plane is worth $15,000 to me no matter what nice meal, blanket, pj's or plush seat they give you. I'd rather have a $5k TV, an iPad, a MacBook that I can enjoy the use of for years, and fly in economy LOL. It's all subjective based on what you value.

      • +1

Absolutely- I get where you are coming from totally. I just meant that in our financial position personally, we would never buy 2 x $15000 tickets to go round the world, it's just not viable for us. But we can afford a good tv, MacBook, 2 x iPads etc, if that makes sense. It probly doesn't, so I'll shut up! Again.

        • I'm also in the same boat. For me flying first/business is nothing special…I fly a lot for work. Even international to sit in some slightly nicer seat getting a little bit better food for 24 hours doesn't appeal to me as much as having…say a new big screen tv for 1 or 2 years. I do get you however…some others at my work prefer to upgrade their flight etc but that's not for me…(I'll fall asleep anywhere). That '15k ' flight in points is probably '13k' of merchandise. So i still look at it like im 'paying' for it.

Anyway, that's just my preference on the issue.

Thanks all for the info about Myer. I'll try to go in and talk to them before converting all the points over. Hopefully come December comm bank has that extra 10% bonus thing again :P

  • will price match if cost price or higher
