Max Power 250W most hand mixers have more power the $99 Kenwood one has 650w?

    • Even the larger kitchenaid stand mixers only have 300w motors. Unlikely a $99 kenwood hand mixer would be more capable at mixing. Higher wattage motor may consume more electricity but doesnt necessarily translate to more power.

Higher wattage motor may consume more electricity but doesn't necessarily translate to more power.

Wattage is literally the unit for Power…

Thanks for your constructive comment and reiterating that higher wattage motor will literally consume more power (otherwise known as electricity).

Im sure you understand what i mean.. Probably wasnt necessary for you to whip out your dicktionary.

I think they are more talking about efficiency. You can have two fridges with the same capacity, but can use very different amounts of electricity to cool the same amount of space. You can have two cars with the same range on a full fuel tank, but one has a smaller tank and uses the fuel more efficiently. In this case, Doesnotcompute is considering that kitchenmaid may be more efficient on the power usage. The Kenwood has more draw, but may not be able to mix faster/through thicker batter, just has a less efficient motor.

            They didn't say that.

@jv: No they didn't explicitly say that. This is my interpretation which makes more sense. I feel you misunderstood what they were saying and tried to explain it in another way you would understand. Will leave it to them to clarify whether or not I understood correctly.

And most handmixers are a pain in the arm if you have to hold them for any appreciable time.

    • Also likely because there's one mixing attachment vs 2 in other devices.

    • I do like the idea that you can use this as a hand mixer if you want also, if you have this, any feedback on it vs a solo hand mixer?

    • Kilowatts: 650

      That's 650,000 W

The KitchenAids aren’t high powered, however, unless you are doing heavy duty doughs they should get the job done. Personally I much prefer a stand mixer over a hand mixer because anything over a couple of minutes and the hand mixer is a pain in the arm to hold up.

However, more than happy for people to post alternatives. Any post should be an about people sharing what they think is a good option.

  • 250W? It’s not the size. It’s what you do with it that matters.

Have this. Rarely use it. Haven't used it in last year. Purchased about 2 years ago. Too small , too heavy , not so powerful.
Always have to choose lifting this heavy thing from low bench , or grabbing small hand held mixer that I have to reach high for. I go for the small handheld every time now.
If you do buy one there are only 2 bowls that you can choose from, the bowls, beaters are not interchangeable with the more common machines.
The big advantage is the accessories that attach to the top section all fit ( I purchased the vegetable sheeter about 10 months before I purchased this machine).

When we designed our kitchen we got extra deep bench tops. My appliances, including my Kitchenaid, sit back on the bench top ready to be brought forward when we need them. Having to move appliances on and off the bench top would be a PITA.
