    🍿

Comments section gonna be better entertainment than the movie itself

    • +1

It will be a better story than twilight.

    • +5

Disappointing so far, decidedly civil with no fireworks and a severe lack of the use of the word "woke": 3/10 - do not recommended.

    • 100% fact

  • +23

Worth cancelling D+ to avoid IMHO. Utterly rubbish remake.

    • +4

Try The Wonder Years remake and think again

      • +2

there is a remake of The Wonder Years? :O

        • Yup. complete remake.

          • +1

@Charbel91: Nooo. Why they gotta ruin stuff like that?

            • +1

@xoom: To protect and expand copyright protections

            • +1

@xoom: Prioritising employment of creators with political agendas rather than any talent or ideas. At least Disney can say they did that well…

  • +6

should be slightly better than Snow white.

    • How about Beauty and the Beast

    • +1

      By a bee's dick :D

    • +16

Snow Woke and the seven diverse individuals.

      • +3

Gotta represent all the diversity or im suing for not being inclusive enough.

        /s

        • +1

Funny thing is there is only one dwarf in the actual cast. Soo much for inclusion

  • +3

    Already available on sharing platforms

  • +22

no comment on the movie but is this 'really' a deal you're paying for Disney plus is it is 'deal' to get content on the platform

i mean we dont post everytime netflix adds something do we….

      • +5

1st time ive ever commented on these- it isnt like this is Amazon where if they added a movie like this you would be 'suprised' might see it as value

this is a disney movie on disney plus if anything it should come out 2 weeks after it hits the cinemas

it is more the opposite of a deal to me disney are pretty shifty having both movies in the cinema then waiting months to put out on their platform - if you're a fan of their content you pay to see it when it is released whilst paying for Disney plus

of course if you're a true Ozbargainer you have D plus via Turkey but still it is pretty unethical and imho nothing on Disney plus produced by disney is a deal…..

    • i mean we dont post everytime netflix adds something do we

You are allowed if you want to

    • Thanks for your honesty, fellas! 🥰

    • +2

You get and upvote for "hate work movies" but a "down vote for fragile male egos"

      • +1

Thanks. This comment clarifies you definitely don't have a fragile ego!

  • +6

Might post a freebie deal for advertisements on free-to-air TV

  • +5

Contains easily the worst song disney has ever produced. Possible the worst song ever in film.

  • +8

This is not a deal if you need to pay for Disney+.

    • -4

      Yaaaaawn

    • get ready for the "you can opt out" (of these BS posts advertising some shit u already paid for)…

      • -1

No need to "get ready", it's always in the post description, which you didn't even notice before downvoting.

        What a spirit.

        • why do we have to out out… should be opt in

    • This.

  • +2

shit movie so its a shit deal!

    • -1

List us your "good" movies so we know which ones will earn your precious upvote

      • -2

It's obviously not about the quality of the movie, but some fragile childhood memories that keep people captive for years! /s

  • -8

    Woke announcement

  • +9

How is this a deal again?

  • +4

This is not the little mermaid i remember

    • +6

      Where did you meet one?

      • +11

        Under the sea

        • +1

Quality response. Sebastian would be proud.

          • @Munki: I Ordered one punch man season 1 and 2 DVD on eBay.. couldn't find it on any steaming service anymore

    • I didn't made this but someone said "the movie is about sea pollution"

  • +2

    No offence

  • +3

I'm so not impressed by the comments.

Most recently there's increased activity of seemingly conservative haters and trolls in here. Feels like OzB is being targetted.

We've been through the debate about [SUBS] a million times. I've been through some bashing by Putin lovers in here too.

    Sad AF.

    • We're definitely getting some offshoots of the US culture wars. I'm starting to see people express bizarre rhetoric even in real life now from all age demographics. It's not just Ozbargain, but it is a shame it's become such a popular opinion here.

      • -2

It's not necessarily an American thing. Shitty populists have been enjoying their moment for a while across the globe - in the UK too, even to the point they quit EU "just because".

    • +2

You're misinterpreting. What's happening is people who once bought into woke / progressive culture are starting to see it for what it really is.
Most actually don't care to be labelled or placed on one side of the political spectrum, they choose instead to think for themselves. Progressive culture presents so well, very attractive. Scratch the surface, it doesn't deliver. Just look at where the Voice polling was 12 months ago compared to now as an example. This is opinion change, nothing else.
As with most of what's progressive, it sounds great and 'feels' good superficially but doesn't hold up under logic and critique. Only idealogues (left in this case) want politics injected into their movies and are really enjoying these Disney's woke remakes. The rest of us just want interesting, fresh, new ideas. Leave the past in the past, why does moving on need to involve altering or moulding it 'for younger audiences'? That's not progressive at all by definition.

      • -6

You're misinterpreting. What's happening is people who once bought into white conservative culture are starting to see it for what it really is.
Most actually don't care to be labelled or placed on one side of the political spectrum, they choose instead to think for themselves. Conservative culture presents so well, very attractive. Scratch the surface, it doesn't deliver. Just look at where the appartheid was 24 years ago compared to now as an example. This is about supremacist tradition, nothing else.
As with most of what's conservative, it sounds great and 'feels' safe superficially but doesn't hold up under any logic and critique. Only idealogues (right in this case) want politics injected into their movies and are really enjoying these white, tinfoil culture. The rest of us just want interesting, fresh, new ideas! Leave the past in the past, why does moving on still need to involve hatred and moulding it 'for younger audiences'? That's not good at all by definition.

        • +1

its not a fresh new idea to just change chars race/sex etc or make the straight white male weak and idiotic just to "represent" a minority for inclusion....its getting predictable……

        • The "hatred" existing in original Disney classics such as The Little Mermaid is…?

    • +1

Reckon its karma for fostering an environment where downvoters are targetted by the clique protecting their precious posting stats and the mods astroturfing the place to make their bargain website look great and inviting

Now people just gonna leech and bomb the deals like this when theres nothing to leech

      OzOwnGoal

      • The level of insecurity among these sheletered, entitled minds ("Leave the past in the past") is through the roof. Insecurity or pure ignorace. Either way it's surprising, given they clearly feel superior and, potentially, educated.

Watch me being downvoted again without any reasonable debate.

        • sheletered

given they clearly feel superior and, potentially, educated.

Yeah, they probably do after reading your comment. Sorry, couldn't help it! 😜

  • +4

    Terrible movie.

Would be good to post this in the forums section to comment more on the movie rather than as a Subscription Bargain Add-on.

  • +10

Funny how so many people suddenly care about Ozb rules when it comes to a non-consequential movie that you just don't like.

Where have you guys been for everything else?

    • +3

Only 10 down votes.. come on people we can do better then that :)

    • -3

Where have you guys been for everything else?

In the exciting oblivion they were put in the minute they started watching "What is a woman?".

  • +2

    Obvious troll bait is obvious.

  • +6

    Where's the deal

    • Free culture war content.

  • +4

Thanks OP, bought 4 of them.

  • +4

It is not a bargain if you are only getting something that you already paid for at the normal price you pay each month. ie Subscription content in a paid subscription

  • +5

I'd vote for a Disney+ deal, but this is an an announcement

"Rotten Tomatoes: 67%" isn't exactly something worth sharing either tbh

  • +3

plexed it for my daughters who are watching it right now. i lasted 20 minutes then got up to go on ozbargain instead

    • +6

      The original is much better.

  • +2

Barbie is out online on sept 4 if anyone is interested

    • +2

      Nope.

      • +1

lol, it cost me a Gold Class cinema ticket to come to that realization too.

  • +2

Im here becuase im outraged 😠…

  • +4

This is not an oz bargain, not a deal at all, its just Dosney adding a disney movie to their app, that i still cant use with picture in picture mode so its my least used streaming app but hey..the simpsons k

    • -7

      Yaaaaawn

  • +6

Product is not worthy of the subscription fee.

  • +3

Little mermaid supposed to be white with red hair. I am old school so I don't like change.

    • +1

They did a good job with a blue will smith… because they kept him blue :) … this is 100% all wrong.

      • +1

Not a fan of Will Smith but I am fine with him as you said he is still blue. But this is totally changing the look of the whole story.

Imagine they remake Aerith with an Asian Actress 🤮🤢

    • +3

i didnt get past this scene, but did they ever explain why king tritan had white, black and asian daughters?

      • -1

You probably got to the part where it's explained how they speak under water.

Are we still talking a fairy tale?

        • +1

they explained it? didnt realise thats something they needed to expain! oh man. im guessing its that scene? i didnt last long sorry

          • -2

@perfectlydark: If you think talking under the sea doesn't need an explanation in a movie like this, why would you think such difference in mermaids physiognomy needs clarifying?

You just assume it's for fun and move on with important things in your life. Like your kids do.

  • +1

So we have the deal police and a bunch of people commenting on a film they probably haven’t seen and will never see. Then we have people complaining about the racial characteristics of a freaking mermaid. How about you people give us some examples of real life mermaids and we can see what racial group they most closely resemble.

One thing about this site what triggers people is pretty predictable.

    • As indicated some people were triggered by this comment.

  • +1

I watched this with my kids and they absolutely loved it. Looking forward to watching this again with them when it comes out on Disney.

  • My annual subs end Sept 16. Finger cross I can sing up for thism
