    • No we don't unfortunately

      • What about Cambodia?

        • Yes the Asia 8 and Asia 12 SIMs covers Cambodia.

          -Anton

          • @TravelKon: It's not on the list though

            • @first in line: We will review the content again but take my word it is included.

Asia 12: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, China , Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam & Cambodia.

Asia 8: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam & Cambodia.

              -Anton

              • @TravelKon: I think the listing's main description further down the page reflects what you responded here.

However, the description underneath the pricing, using the 13 Day SIM for example, has:

Valid in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, China, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Vietnam & Myanmar

                Myanmar instead of Cambodia.

                • @zrmx: Thanks - this has now been fixed.

                  -Anton

    • Hello - no this is something we do not currently sell.

We do have our own version of "world explorer" SIM cards

  • Going away to Singapore end of October, is this the best deal for overseas - plan to use it for facebook calls or wifi calling from boost sim.
Thinking the 10gb for 30 days should be more than sufficient for 10 days there

  • Thanks Anton.
Bought two eSIMs and they were delivered via email immediately.

Nice! thank you for the support :)

  • I'm confused about the expiry date 31/12/23. Is the expiry date for when I have to activate it by? I travel from 24/12 to 7/1. Will I be able to use during those period?

    • Yes you can - as long as you used the card by 31/12/23.

      -Anton

  • Planning to travel to Japan Niseko Hokkaido and Taiwan in December

Do you recommend buying separate eSim for Japan (docomo) and Asia explorer for best reception ?

What carrier does Asia explorer use? Docomo or CHT? I am after the best possible reception in Niseko and Fukuoka .

Taiwan I am not too worried.

Edit. Can not find info on when eSim needs to be activated by??

    Thanks Anton

    • Asia Explorer is a CHT SIM with Japanese roaming partner KDDI/Docomo - so this will have good coverage.

If the data is enough we do recommend the Asia Explorer for convenience.

      -Anton

      • ESIM need to activate within 180 days.

        -Anton

  • Planning to travel Malaysia end of next month. So if I purchase your SEA esim, does it give an Australian number or Malaysian number? It’s is 1Gb per day for 7 day plan ie giving a total of 7Gb for total duration. It’s allow unlimited calls & texts, Does it work for IPhone XR 4G?

    • The Asia 8 Explorer eSIM is a data-only eSIM - there is no phone number, so there is no calls or text.

Yes it will work in iPhone XR.

      -Anton

  • Hi mate, keen for a esim when in Japan in novemeber, do these options have any trouble with Google pixel phones sold in Australia? Have heard some have issues connecting to esims in Japan, any thoughts?

    • Hello not that we know of we have plenty of customers using pixel phones with our eSIM.

      -Anton

  • Thanks OP, perfect timing for our trip in October!

    • Thanks for the support :)

      -Anton

  • is there an esim that include phone call for korea?

    • Unfortunately not

      -Anton

    • Better not to go lol

      • Why not

  • In the unlikely event I purchase a physical sim and insert it in Japan and it doesn't work, what would I do then?
Is there a local solution I could utilise, or a pre-check I could do before flying?.

BTW: Thanks for all the replies to people's questions, I wish all companies did this on OzBargain!

I’m trying to buy 2x the Asia Explorer 12 (Countries)
eSIM 15 Days ($34.50) but when I follow that link it doesn’t let enter the discount code and is charging me the full price of $46 each.

  • Hi Op, are there any deal for USA Sim or eSim coming up?

    • +1

This sale is only for Japan - stay tune for our next promotion.

      -Anton

  • "Works in all unlocked mobile phone devices (the SIM will NOT work on Modem/Mifi/Pocket Wifi devices)"

So what about laptops or tablets?

    • +1

Tablets is probably fine, laptop we can't guarantee.

The reason for this is you need the following settings to be present: data roaming, apn settings and network operator.

      -Anton

  • +1

Excellent timing! I was looking at your website yesterday, but got distracted before I checked out. Checked OzB when I get to the office this morning and find this promotion. Placed the ordered this morning, taking off for Tokyo in 3 weeks.

    Thanks!

    • Thanks for the support!

      -Anton

  • Price is better on lemon mobile for a Thailand Sim.

  • When is there gonna be a deal for south american countries?

    • Unfortunately not at the moment, but stay tune for our next promotion.

  • Hi @TravelKon, I'm looking to fly to Japan in Oct for 10 weeks, visiting these places Tokyo, Hokodate, Hokkaido, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Takayama, Nagano, Niigata, and Aomori.(possibility to go Hiroshima and Kobe).

Are 30 days esims all that's available? And is the recommendation to just buy multiple 30 days esims or look for one that will cover the duration of the trip?

I'll need two (2) esim and one (1) physical sim (other phone doesn't have esim capability).

    Thanks heaps for the deal!

    • Hello yes we currently only have the 30 days esim on offer and yes you would need to purchase multiple SIMs to cover the entire trip.

      -Anton

      • Thanks for that.

Can you check to see whether the Japan 10GB Physical sim is still available? I can't seem to add any online as it's saying it's out of stock (but the page still mentions it's still in stock).

        Cheers.

        • +1

Please check now - the stock is extremely limited.

          -Anton

  • Hi @TravelKon, just placed order 53454. After submitting I noticed that Free priority shipping was available, but was too late to select. Not sure if this makes a difference, but would appreciate if it could be bumped up please.

Travelling in 3 weeks so assume it will be fine either way.

    • +1

Hello no worries we will try and take note of this one, as you may understand we have alot of orders!

      -Anton

  • If I'm in Tokyo and nearby cities (Hakone, Nikko), would IIJ work ok? I'm not sure what "manual APN input" mean.

    • Yes it should - APN stands for access point names, the IIJ eSIM may require manual input. If you do not know what this means it's best you buy our Kddi/Docomo combo.

However, our CS can help on how to add this APN manually should you decide to purchase the IIJ.

      -Anton

      • Hi Anton,

I'm also getting a "product OOS" message when trying to add the Japan 30 Days 10GB physical sim to cart. The product page still says in stock.

        Cheers.

        • Please try now.

Note for everyone the Japan physical SIM is close to be exhausted - please purchase as soon as you can.

          -Anton

          • @TravelKon: Thank you.

Please send me a tax invoice for #53697.

  • I just bought 3x Asia Explorer SIMs. Does this SIM card allow tethering?

    • Yes it does and thank you for the support.

      -Anton

  • Hi, I am visiting Japan for a month and hong kong for a day. Do you recommend Esim or a Physical Sim (i have an Iphone 11), for the best coverage?

    Thanks

    • There is no difference in coverage between physical and eSIM. We do think eSIM is much more convenient though!

      -Anton

These 3 links point to the same URL but don't work:
    Asia Explorer 13 (Countries) 30 Days(travelkon.com.au) 30 Days 10GB Data Only $36.75 30/06/2024
    Asia Explorer 13 (Countries) 30 Days(travelkon.com.au) 30 Days 20GB Data Only $51.00 30/06/2024
    Asia Explorer 13 (Countries) 30 Days(travelkon.com.au) 30 Days 30GB Data Only $66.75 30/06/202

    • Not sure what you mean but we have tried entering the code and it works fine.

      -Anton

      • -1

But the URL is the exact same for 5-6 different items and they ALL point to this URL which doesn't work. Looks like someone copy/pasted the same URL to 5-6 different SIM cards. Why does this link say 10GB when it's meant to be 20GB or 30GB
        https://www.travelkon.com.au/product/southeast-asia-explorer…

        • +1

The URL is correct because there is a drop down menu options where you can choose between the 10, 20, 30GB and whether you want China or not.

          -Anton

  • +1

Klook SIM card for Philippines is less than one third the price with twice as much data: $13.79 for 29GB vs $51 for 15GB
    https://www.klook.com/en-AU/activity/17166-3g-4g-globe-sim-c…

    • We do not have a dedicated Philippines SIM card, so it is not comparable as ours can work in 8 or 13 different countries depending which one you buy.

Klook one is also an airport pick up not delivered to your Australian address.

      -Anton

  • how long do eSim's last if they haven't been activated? Going to Japan in March and wound like to pick up a eSim but not sure if it will last that long

    • 180 days from purchase - so March is too early.

      -Anton

  • For Japan, the data servers are located in Japan or outside? Some Sim companies backhaul the local traffic via telco companies to servers located outside Japan hence higher latency.

    • All our Japan SIMs are provided via CHT Taiwanese telco.

The Japan IIJ eSIM is a local provider.

      Both speeds are comparable.

      -Anton

  • Thanks, grabbed an eSIM for my upcoming trip in December. Used you guys before and the service was great.

Just wondering, because I'm going to a few places around Asia, will I need to manually configure APNs for each country once I land?

    • No once it worked in one country the APN will not need to be changed only the network operators (if it does not connect to the right one automatically)

      -Anton

  • Dose international roaming drain your battery alot faster?
i bought one a few months ago and used it with my iphone 14, and the battery was draing so fast.

    • Wouldn't think so - we have used our own SIM to travel around Asia and did not experience any noticeable drop in battery usage.

Bearing in mind we probably use the phone more whilst travelling

      -Anton

  • Can't seem to apply the coupon to the Asia 8 eSims.

    https://www.travelkon.com.au/product/southeast-asia-explorer…

Are these not included in the promo?

    • This is not part of the Japan sale unfortunately.

      -Anton

  • Thanks for the promo and details. I'm deciding between a physical sim and an eSim for my trip in 2 months, what are the main reasons to choose one over the other?

    • +1

Physical and eSIM works the same way, the only difference is the technology.

One requires a physical SIM, one just require a QR code to be scanned.

Both works the same way in terms of speed, data etc

We always recommend the eSIM if you have a compatible phone as it is super easy to use and you get it instantly!

      -Anton

  • Perfect timing thanks OP for posting this deal purchased 4 x 30day @ 30GB

    • Thank you for the support!

      -Anton

  • Hello. Any promo for Thailand 30 days esim?

For Japan esim, I can confirm that I used travelkon last month trip to Japan and it’s worked well. Even when in small town like hakone, Nikko, no issue with it.

    • Thank you for your valuable feedback.

We currently do not have any promotion for Thailand but please stay tune!

      -Anton

  • Ordered 2 eSims just hope that my Pixel 7 from Telstra turns up before I travel to Japan

    • Awesome, thanks for the support!

      -Anton

  • I think the answer is no, but Can the Sims card be put in a 4G portable modem and shared for minor browsing and YouTube?

    • No unfortunately -> it is only available for mobile phones as it need access to APN, data roaming and network operator.

      -Anton

      • Ok thx. Can I load in my phone and use it as hotspot? Thx for replying

  • Hi Travelkon, any deals for the hong kong sim card?

    • Not at the moment unfortunately.

      -Anton

  • Travelling in Japan, early-mid June next year - will the SIM be valid?

    • For Physical SIMs - yes they will be.

      -Anton

  • What's the best esim for 15 days in Japan? I'll be in Niseko and Sapporo for those 15 days.

    • Hello you can buy our 30 days eSIM with 10, 20 or 30GB of data.

      -Anton

      • What's the difference between IIJ and KDDI? Which provider is better for Niseko/Hokkaido region?
