Weren't the reviews for this pretty brutal? Even at this price, is it worth it?

    • +4

      At the price, yes definitely!

    • Cash grab at launch

    • +2

Brutal on its live service and microtransaction features, however they said as a standard action game it was fine.

  • +1

Not sure why, but when I logged in and bought it, it guy reduced to 88% off. So I got it for AUD$6.35.

    Still bought it. Thanks op

    • At least u get Spiderman!

Spiderman was "kidnapped" in Xbox version.

P/s: seems like Spiderman is not on PC version too, except u mod it

      • +1

I heard Spider-Man played better when he appeared in Fortnite than he did in this.

    • i got same, also ordered even if its just for a bit of mindless bashing with marvel characters will do for me

    • It's auto-applying the 17% off code AUG17.

      • Shows $7.94 for me, if I try to apply the AUG17 code it's says it can't be applied to the order. :(

      • it's $6.35 for some of us because it's also included in the XP offer (which is their loyalty program of-sorts).

        • ah, you're right, I learned to maths properly and it's more than 17%. I just assumed as when I put the code in the discount didn't change.

    • You "still bought it" when it was cheaper? Lol doesn't make sense, sounds like a complaint, hurts my brain.

  • +1

It's showing up as $6.50 for me so even better definitely jumping on it

  • +1

Most boring Hulk I have ever seen in a game

  • +1

Going to get delisted on Sept 30. Hopefully it goes on sale for even less just before then.

  • +2

Having purchased this several months ago for a similar price, it's honestly not worth your time. I can usually handle an average game but this was just boring. Maybe spent 5-10 hours on it before uninstalling.

    • yeah played beta and you couldn't pay me to play it after that.zzzz

Green Man gaming are not to be trusted. I am one of the many that remember their age of empires IV fiasco. Give a steam key only to take it back weeks later. Avoid.

    • +4

So 1 instance huh. Been using them for 10+ years and purchased 70+ games through them with no problems. One issue is not a reason to say a business is not to be trusted… They are one of the most trustworthy around.

      • -7

If they were reputable they would have honoured their deal or at least revoked it right away instead of waiting weeks, extremely unprofessional. Just my thoughts, you do you boo boo.

      • -3

As I recall ages of empires IV was also roughly 85% off… And they didn't honour it. Just saying…

        • +3

So all companies should honour price errors? That's a good way for businesses to go bankrupt from honest mistakes.

        • +3

They dont have to honour it.. It was just a bunch of gamers pissy they didnt get a deal that was to good to be true. Happens tons here with other products but only gamers decide to review bomb the company.. This was GMGs rather good response to it all

"During the early hours of the 12th of July, we became aware that we had accidentally discounted Age of Empires IV: Deluxe Edition far beyond the price agreed with our partners. This meant that many customers were able to take advantage of a deal which had unintended consequences.

As a result of this error we decided to take the exceptional step to refund every customer who had purchased this game in full. As part of this process, all keys sold at this incorrect price were revoked. We understand that this is a frustrating situation for every customer affected and we apologise for the incorrect discount and the disruption this has caused.

To ensure this kind of issue does not occur again we have overhauled our internal procedures by adding several checks to make sure that when you see a price on our site, you know it’s a price you can trust. We have examined every game on sale during our Summer Sale 2022 for accuracy and every price you see there will be honoured - without exception.

We know that regaining trust in us will take time."

          • @Ravensbane: Seems very reasonable to me

          • @Ravensbane: The only weird bit was the key being revoked even after people had installed and started playing. Not something that would ever happen with any other deal that's too good to be true.

That said, that's the reality of buying digital items.

    • I remember getting refunded pretty much straight away on that, they sent out an email within hours.

It sucked, but it was over a year ago and they haven't done anything like that since that I've heard of. Cheap steam key is still a cheap steam key IMO.

Massively downvoted for sharing a negative experience with the company that actually a few people from here also had. Ok. Sigh. I guess next time I'll shut my mouth even if I've had a bad experience.

      • +1

I'm with you OP. I don't know why you are being downvoted. If you bought a chocolate bar for 50c from Coles, I sure as hell wouldn't expect them to steal it back and that is a physical good unlike the infinitely reproducable intangible digital goods GMG are selling.

People saying GMG haven't done anything bad like that since is oddly justifying poor behaviour.

  • +1

Only cost me $6.35 when i logged in.

  • +1

Thought they're going to stop support and live service for this game end of Sep

    • +1

Will still be available to play offline. Personally enjoyed my time with it up until end game and that was at launch. Each to their own but this is a good bargain especially for Marvel fans.

  • +2

The single player campaign is worth the price.

  • +1

I guess reviews are based on multiplayer, but if you're not interested in multiplayer like me, hard to go wrong with Crystal Dynamics.

  • +1

I've now bought this on Xbox, PSN, & Steam in preparation for it being dislisted. Have yet to even play it

  • Damn it, went to buy a copy for my missus and I'm too late :(. Hope it becomes an Amazon freebie :D

    • +1

cdkeys reg price is around $10

      • Thanks, got it :)
