eSIM Question - for Calling The US with a +1 Number

I'm hoping to find an expert on a topic where I'm a novice.

I'm looking for an eSim for my phone that comes with the following things:
-A +1 phone number
-Calling packages to the US from Australia
-Minimal data
-Either pre or post paid

Basically I want a US number so I can use it when I get there, but call from here until then.

Lebara is good, but not +1. I'm finding it hard to get assistance from some of the others so I can ask specifics.

Any suggestions?

Pretty sure Australian phone providers won't give you an American number, you'll need to get an American/Canadian sim with roaming to make calls while you're in Australia.

Tried looking at a global sim from someone like airalo?

    I have had a T-mobile pre-paid sim that I got years ago.
It supports WiFi calling so you can make calls from Australia to the USA with it without issue.
I'm pretty sure I originally bought it from a SIM provider in Australia prior to a previous trip, unfortunately I can't remember which one.

The current plan I'm on is US$10 a month which provides data and calls.
You can even pay for a month and then not pay and let it get suspended for a few months before having to top it up again to keep it active if you want it long term, to keep costs down.

  • Try the T Mobile app. It lets you set up a prepaid eSIM with a US number which you can use in US, not sure about using it from Australia using VoWifi.

    • Considering the physical SIM supports VoWiFi, I imagine eSIM would too.

  • Thanks everyone - I'm giving T-Mobile's esim a try.
