Latitude Pay Still Reporting as Active Line of Credit to Credit Reporting Agencies

Check your credit reports if you were a latitude pay customer. Despite the service being closed you may find it is still reporting the service to the credit reporting agencies as an active line of credit.

I found the three major agencies all had this as an active line of credit on my credit report.

Latitude pay would not do anything to correct it, just responded that the account was closed , in my case in April 2023.

Given that, you will need to contact each of the credit agencies to seek a correction to your credit report.

It can take a number of months for those "closures" to be reported through to Credit Companies.

In the same boat. My account was closed in February with no communication whatsoever, still showing as active on Equifax, Experion and Illion. Same response from Latitude. Is over 7 months delay reasonable?

    • 6 weeks is about the maximum it should take. Latitude pay is basically reporting on a monthly basis that the monthly payment has been recived

  • Just make sure you have the closure letter. If you're applying for a loan you can present that as evidence (I did that with my home loan).

    • How did you get that closure letter. My friend wants to apply for a loan and the bank requests the statement of LatitudePay… no one picks up the phone.

  • Same thing happened to me - used Latitude Pay once in 2021. I did receive an email in February of this year regarding account closure but had no idea it was an active line of credit after until I checked my credit reports recently! Ridiculous when I used it ONCE as BNPL over two years ago…

  • If you apply for credit and an invalid entry shows up in your credit report, then the credit provider that you're applying to is required to facilitate a correction on your behalf.

Alternatively, you also have the right to request a copy of the data that was used to assess your application. You can then take that report to the credit bureau (eg. equifax) who usually allow you to request it directly.
