Nike racing shoes - just in time for those brave souls planning on competing in the upcoming Sydney Marathon!

These are the previous versions (Vaporfly 3's are out now) but seem to be a pretty decent price at 39% off. Not as cheap as previous deal though ($155.99) but colour seems nicer?: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/772315

Shipping is $9.95. Cashrewards has extra 10% cash back which brings ~$172. My purchase was instantly tracked at $17.84 by Cashrewards.

Only men's is on sale but I believe women sizes are 1.5 size smaller. i.e. if Women's size 8.5 then go for Men's size 7

  • Great looking shoe, it's a shame i'm not quick enough to justify the purchase!

    • +2

You don't need to be quick. These are absolutely recommended for any run over 5km at any pace
These are great to improve performance and save your feet and legs
      Absolute bargain

      • +8

Pretty overkill to bother with a carbon plated shoe unless you're running some pretty serious times IMO. For someone like me who's not even going sub-20 in the 5km it's more than I need - I run in Peg Turbo 2's / Fuelcell Rebel V3's for reference.

        • If you plan to run a marathon it's not overkill at all. You don't need to be fast to get the benefits of these shoes.

        • They are faster than rebel v3 at the same price

      • No.

        What crazy talk.

  • +4

These fit tight so go up half a size on your normal running shoes. Especially if you're planning to do long runs in them. Great shoes.

      this!

  • -7

Run along side your dinosaur as you wear this old tech

    • -2

      What's old tech here? It's a shoe

      • It's not old, this is from two years ago and is still amazingly good! Better than almost any other shoe, especially at this price!

        • Good for walking too or just running?

          • @DrScavenger: I am not sure about walking since carbon plate shoes have very aggressive rocker patterns which basically means the shoes encourage/ are designed for running biomechanics. IMHO it feels very awkward to walk around in them as you feel you might tip over at any time

          • @DrScavenger: Running. Running relatively fast.

          • @DrScavenger: Awful for walking.

          • @DrScavenger: Definitely not designed for walking. At jogging pace they alright but they excel when I want to go fast.

Shoe tech has massively improved over time.

In this specific instance, there is limited improvements and this "old tech" is 100% okay… but, in general, there have been massive improvements in running shoes over time.

These are carbon plated super shoes. These shoes are those with massive improvements in recent years. There isn't much better. These are high end and are amazing

Just a sad old bloke trolling.

Thanks OP. Got a pair. Great shoe, great price.

  • +1

Without doing any research what so ever I'm guessing these are not remotely stability shoes, right? That heel likes super high but then again the Asics Kayano 30's now aren't that much different lol.

    • +1

Definitely not stability shoes. These are high end long distance energy return running shoes best suited for 10+km runs especially for fast racing

      • Thank you sir, I wish I could wear them but my feet would disagree.

  • Trying to get a pair but I keep getting an error: "We had an issue with your request. If you continue experiencing issues, try refreshing the page. [ Code: 5FCA054A ]"
    Frustrating…

  • Few people keen on race day only shoes

    • These are going to make me so fast on my Aldi e-bike.

This model has been out for some time, might be worth checking out your nearest Nike Factory outlet. On some of their sales i've pick these up for under $100

    • DFO Homebush has the Womens' one for $220 two days ago with good range of sizes. They are unisex so just subtract 1.5 for Mens sizing.

  • bruh what they've removed it off their website
