  • does anyone have one - are they any good?

    • +2

All these brandless ones are the same/a crap shoot. They'll do the job.

    • +7

Bought one of these last year similar priced, these are no good, proprietary charger, clunky and charges slow, mine has just gone to landfill.

This particular design seems to be mass produced and rebadged under a lot of brands.

There are better budget options out there, e.g. Renpho's USB-C version which is smaller and feels like a much higher quality product which historically went on sale around ~$100.

You get what you pay for with this one IMO.

      • +1

        What did you get instead?

      • +1

much better to get one with a USB-C charger port, or at minimum a micro-usb.

  • +2

Lol remember when Reps used to post these for around $100.

    • +2

Those days when they were still allowed to post on OzBargain :P

  • +3

think this is the one we have. Works fine, has been good to help some injuries/muscle complaints.
    Battery has deteriorated a bit

Got it for the same price i think, and decided for that price we couldn't go wrong

    • +1

where did you see 58? i see 98 at a lightning deal

      • +1

Allocation must have exhausted, it was definitely there :(

        • $58 is an amazing price for a Bob and Brad - who are a premium brand in this space. Hope you and a few others landed one…

          • +1

@UncleRico: Yeah seems like a great deal. I didn’t get any because I got a massage gun already, some free from Amazon.

            • @I Smell Pennies: Free? How so.

I've got a cheapo gun already too - and grabbed this deal for a future gift as well - but when I looked at some of the online reviews, the Bob & Brad was very well regarded for its power and longer stroke length. I wonder if the reason it was expired was because the $40 voucher was never supposed to stack with the lightning deal? I've never seen any of their stuff available that cheap before…

              • @UncleRico: Coupon disappeared because allocation has reached.

The deal was available for a solid hour before I posted.

  • Bought this in May around $40 and still works well.usb C charger and battery hasn't visibly deteriorated.

Theragun pro is the way to go if you have cash.

Longest stroke length of any massage gun. It's like the Lamborghini of massage guns. Just got a second hand one for $400 on ebay

    • +9

      Longest stroke length

16mm if anyone is trying to find this number. It makes a lot of difference. The cheap ones feels like it just vibrate but a Theragun actually pounds your muscle.

I dont know why but whatever i wrote feels dirty.

    • Yep! This is the way.

With massage guns you definitely get what you paid for. Comparing the theragun that I bought over 3 years ago (have travelled extensive with it) vs the el-cheapo guns, definitely a fair bit of difference in terms of build quality, power and long term effectiveness.

    • totally agree. but i have hard time explaining to people who doesnt own any gun as they keep saying why need spend $400 if there is $50. cant be that much different ? blah blah…

  • There's something like this at the Coles Express petrol station for $40 today. No idea what they are, but maybe the Coles Express one is better quality than this random brand.

  • Anyone feel dizzy caused by the strongest vibration? Not on this particular but in general massage gun.. or its just me who bought the cheap one

    • +4

Where are you using it in order to feel dizzy?

      • +2

Hmmm. Either blood or oxygen may be getting diverted from the brain to other essential organs…

      • Shoulder and neck in particular

    • +2

It does it to me too. I'd says it's messing with your vestibular system in you inner ear that is responsible for proprioception and balance.

      • Good to hear not only me tho perhaps majority is fine

  • Got one… see how it goes.

  • Bought one of these recently and my wife complained it would be a waste of money. I've been away for work so can't attest to how well it works but for some reason my wife says she loves it! It now lives in her bedside draw and she's even bought a few for her friends! Must be pretty good I guess?

    • +4

Outstanding! And on the plus side, the electric toothbrush has been restored to it's original purpose…

      • +4

Original purpose? I just thought my wife enjoyed brushing her teeth in bed 🤔

        • +1

Don't they all… even if the batteries seem to run flat very quickly everytime I'm away on business.

But the smile on her pearly whites always suggest she's given it a good workout…

          • +1

@UncleRico: Haha very true! My wife also seems to eat a lot healthier when I'm away for work. Found a receipt from the supermarket dated the day I left and she had rushed out and spent $20 at the shops on cucumbers, zucchinis, and bananas. Can't complain about healthy habits!

            • +1

@nokidsandthreemoney: Nice work - You've clearly trained her well.

Wish my better half would invest in some healthier eating whilst I'm away. Her sweet tooth sees her stockpiling on supplies from some organisation called Love Honey whenever I'm MIA…

              • +1

@UncleRico: Naughty girl! I bet she sucks on all sorts of things from that store! Youd better get home and see if she deserves a spanking 😏

                • +1

@nokidsandthreemoney: I’d be happy to take care of all the spanking.

                  • -1

@I Smell Pennies: Thank you kind sir, I am more than happy to outsource the discipline and I hope @UncleRico is too. I find it difficult to administer, and seemingly it is better received by my wife when another man is able to assist. Every time a guy comes around to help with the spanking, I return to a much happier and generally better demeanoured wife.

                    • +2

@nokidsandthreemoney: Ouch! Harsh negs for a man who is selflessly committed to procuring a more obliging demeanor from his wife.

Deep down, I'm sure she'll be much happier for it…

                      • +1

@UncleRico: Hahaha imagine being that much of a salty Karen that they'd neg an obviously joking hypothetical. God some people are idiots.

                • +1

@nokidsandthreemoney: As long as she's only sucking on things from "that store", I suppose things could be worse…

  • I'm surprised that all these products with "gun" in their names don't trigger some sort of red flags at customs/Amazon

  • Thanks, Op. got one.

  • What about the renpho? Or the homedics at jbhifi? Looking for decent massage gun for a reasonable price.

  • +3

Got one of these as a gift and it's fine for the price.
There was a little card inside that said if I sent in a screenshot showing that I'd left a 5 star review on Amazon they would send me a free charging dock.
    So don't trust the reviews.

    • Did you get the dock?

      • No. I believe in honest reviews. How may I live without my name?

        • +1

Salut. To thine own self be true…

        • Can you not edit reviews after the fact? Because I'd 5 star it and then come back and edit it once I got the goods :D

  • Give it a crack for $34….

    • +1

okay bro… but dont use it on your crack

  • I don't see a discount code checkbox. I guess it was a limited number of redemptions?

  • Theragun pro or nothing i got two of the expensive ones on amazon renpho and another one endorsed by some physio but had to send both back as what theragun does none other does

    • As in the RPM? Or just the effectiveness of whatever you use it for? Trying to gauge how much I regret getting this.

  • after missing countless massage gun deals previously , finally got one today

I am officially a massage gun owner now.

  • +2

Back on sale, thanks to Smelly Pennies for the heads up.
