    Okay, so I’ve gotta take the temperature of the room here. Has anyone had good HJ’s coffee? Or do my locals just suck ass? Because they literally have tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear, but can not seem to make decent coffee for the life of them.

      My HJ's coffee is good and I slightly prefer it over McDonald's coffee.

      I tried one the week it came out and I couldn't taste the coffee. I don't mind bad coffee, 7 Eleven coffee is often burnt but at least it's strong. Jacks was just brown water.

      My local is fine. Definitely better than the 7-Eleven machines, but it will depend on the person making it. I have had terrible ones on occasion.

      HJ has barista made coffee or just button-press automatic machines like 7/11? Not sure if i've ever had a really good milk-based coffee from either.

      As others have mentioned, McCafe will depend on Barista and how you like your coffee. Extra expresso helps flavour for me.

      McDonald’s can be very hit and miss, BUT, they can produce absolutely excellent coffee. I say this as a huge coffee snob. But you need everything to line up. (Also, always customise the order and add an extra espresso shot for 80c. The base ratios are weak AF).

        ^ knows their stuff. If the right staff are on I know I'll get a good cup. When I order large I always add a shot. My local McDonalds has brought back honey as a sweetener and it's just like what I make at home.

    HJ iced coffees are a bit "Hit and miss".
    McD is slightly more consistent.

    Still, I'd have less than one from HJ or McD per month, if at all.

    With iced coffee at $6-$7 elsewhere (apart from service stations), a $3 iced coffee is fine with me. 👌

      I agree. $3 Iced Drink is a deal.
      For me, their Hot Coffee has always been a Hit or Miss. It depends on the Barista after all. If they're good, then even the Hot Coffee is nicely done. Rare though.

      I miss the Shake N Win free coffees. That was an absolute deal — anytime 😉

        Havent spun free coffee, chips, soft drink or frozen drink for a long time now (still get free brekky rolls, hash browns and soft serves) Have had more luck scoring free items at breakfast time

          Yes, can confirm this. Usually spun Free Brekky Roll, Free Hashbrown, if shaken prior to 10:30 AM.
          After 10:30 AM, till next morning, I've only got Free Soft Serves.

          All the rest of the items have vanished.

          P.S.: Maccas Monopoly starts today 06/09. Purchase required though to 'win' free stuff.

      Click on Order, Select your restaurant, then make sure you are referring to the section — Jack's App Deals as shown in the screenshot in OP, from there select the $2 Coffee or $3 Iced Drinks.

      If you go by the normal flow and choose from the usual menu, it would still show full price.

      There was a similar confusion in the previous same deal by HJ as well.

    Has anybody tried McCafe Dirty Chai? It was once highly recommended to me and I've yet to try.

    Got the $5 Toastie, Hash brown and coffee deal at Southern Cross yesterday and coffee seemed ok.
