Coles Rewards Mastercard Vs 28 Degree Card Same Cost for International Purchases?

Does anyone have both the coles rewards mastercard and 28 degree card and can confirm the cost for international / overseas in person purchases are the same when converting back to AUD?

Just consideration which card to use when overseas as they both are similar

When I had both they were the same via MasterCard. Coles Rewards is worth it for the points while 28D does not.

    • ya points good point

I'm thinking the exchange rate they use is the same regardless of 28 latitude or NAB coles rewards mc

but wonder if one would charge more or use the same rate?

      • They'd be using the MasterCard rate so you'd expect them all to be identical.

        • ya and 28 for merchandise protection

          • @Poor Ass: Have they brought that back for new customers? Years ago they cut it off for only existing customers.

          • @Poor Ass: Uhm.. no more merchandise protection..Gone in 2019

  • Coles don't have international fee free. Not mine, anyway. So the transaction rate is the same, but then an additional transaction appears for fees.

    • Coles doesn't have international fees… there ya go

yes it's true and same as 28 they used to be all under the same company

      • Which card are you using?

I'm on Coles No Annual Fee Platinum Mastercard.

Last month I purchased from the PS store.

        19/7 - PlaystationNetwork LONDON GB - $32.98
        20/7 - INTL TRANSACTION FEE AUD 32.98 -$0.82

Edit: Only the Rewards card doesn't have intl transaction fees. So I see you are fine, OP.

To answer your question then. Might be an idea just to take both and use whichever. Just in case one is swallowed up or compromised, etc.

        • yup rewards

you reckon Mastercard takes a cut of the exchange rate?

          • @Poor Ass: Not sure.

Only way to find out is to order two items of equal price at the same time on each different card.
