HP X34 34" IPS 165Hz 3440x1440 Ultrawide Gaming Monitor $596 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Harvey Norman

170

Acer Nitro XV340CKP is also on sale for $656 + delivery.

Both monitors are 34" flat IPS ultrawide, but the Acer is 144Hz while the HP is 165Hz. I'm not sure which one's better overall, but a youtuber who reviewed both seems to prefer the HP.

  • Nice deal, would prefer curved. But those specs for the price are awesome if you dont mind the flat for the hp

      would prefer curved.

Both the LG 34GN850 and BenQ EX3415R rarely ever drop below $900, so that might be a long wait for a curved IPS.

I've read that IPS monitors don't really need a curve at 34" like VA does, and that it's only at bigger sizes like 38" where it's a must. Maybe someone here that's tried a 34" flat IPS can confirm that.

      • Dam good point.. wish i wated a few more weeks.. just bough the 34" lg ultrawide va curved 160hz qhd for $560… though the lg has usb c

Did you consider Dell S3422DWG? Simiar specs and price range. Just curious why you went with the LG?

@ttkc: normally the lg was $800 on the lg website.. so when it went on sale for $560, thought it would be worth it.. its good… only annoying thing with it is that the bottom 7 pixels are blocked for some reason.. cant see the line under the application symbols on the task bar, on windows 10 showing if apps are open (if the task bar is at the bottom of the screen).. im gonna search a way to fix that or shrink my screen a little somehow..but its annoying… Dell, well i actually placed an order through my paypal originally on that model, but for some reason they never put the order through and waited for 2 weeks.. still says pending… was abit dodgy trying to buy through dell online via paypal to bank account order… so i went ahead and bought the lg because it was on sale.. also i like the usbc because i can plug my phone into it and it turns it into a mini mobile phone desktop and i can type out messages on my phone with the keyboard.. amazing how it turns the mobile phone into a desktop similar looking to windows 10.. i have a samsung 22 ultra, and the feature is called samsung dex, can look it up on youtube.. pretty cool how you can do that with your usbc phone or tablet etc.. but yea.. i got it for the office and the missing bottom 7 pixels is really annoying.. might just move the task bar to the sides or top of the screen instead.. but it feels weird so… only reason im considering getting another monitor to replace it.

  • Great price. Hate the white HP logo on the front. Wonder if this is a worthy upgrade from my 5 year old Xiaomi 34 inch.

    • Was thinking the exact same thing…. What I dont like about the Xiaomi is the buttons on the right hand side that you have to press to change the inputs. Very annoying.

  • HP has only 1xDP and 1xHDMI inputs FYI
