Anko Brand Kmart

Was in Kmart today and noticed a lot of products on shelves with the Anko brand. Especially in electronics there was a lot of decent electronic products for a decent price. Anybody know anything about this brand and the products they make? User experience with the brand?

It's their in house brand that probably gives off the illusion of being better than generic brands. However, Anko items are nothing but generic goods just with a brand slapped onto them. Their goods are alright, if you are opting for budget friendliness.

I use a lot of their stuff.

I wouldn't trust their power banks and chargers but there's more simple electronics I really like.

Had a large dehumidifier and it was great. Humidifier is good too. Dehydrator is good. Kettle is really good.

I just say stick to the more basic electronics

I've always found Anko to be excellent quality, often easily comparable with brands several times more expensive.

It used to be Home & Co but then they rebranded to Anko from the & Co.

Personally I’ve found a lot of their products are great, but I check out reviews on the Kmart website, and also check out Choice too. There’s quite a few appliances that are very highly rated/recommended on Choice, but also a bunch that are not recommended at all, so don’t just assume it’s all great or all shit.

      Mind… blown

Wait until you find out that Anko branded products are colour coded depending on where in the store the items go.

        Kitchen is orange
        Bathroom is blue
        Electronics are black
        Etc

Super helpful when you find a product online and see the packaging, but want to be sure you’re looking in the right spot for it when you go in store. For example when it’s just a generic “tray” that could be in bathroom or kitchen.

    • Yep, well each department had their own & Co, Home & Co, Kids & Co etc so they combined them all under Anko.

  • Does the job and lower cost. I will say tho, assess the product cleaning. A deep fryer that my parents bought, was one complete unit and you could neither disconnect the cord or remove the inner bowl or lid for cleaning (there was none, just 1 total unit with a detachable fry basket). It was impossible to clean properly and they chucked it after the 1st use.
Small bullet style blender is awesome and had their microwave and kettle for over 5 years each.

Shame… Kmart are so good with their returns, they could have gotten their money back.

CONFIRMED: can make delicious apple pie using my new Anko bedside lamp and matching alarm clock

  • Their basic range is quite good (clothing, furniture, kitchen, housewares, gardening) for what it is. They feel a slight step down from IKEA quality, but at a much cheaper price. That said, when it comes to electrical and electronic goods, I tend to get the branded stuff from companies that specialise in it.

    • Be wonderful if you could make a List of things that you would buy from KMart?

  • I've bought their air fryer, electric kettle and a toaster. Been using it for 3 years and have held up pretty good. Still going strong.

  • YMMV. Got a seat pad from them based on another user's rec - ok so far.

Tried their wireless speakers once, the small portable kind - would not connect at all. Got that refunded. A radio clock similarly did not perform - alarm function didn't work.

Got a basic set of earbuds to tide over - it was ok and still working.

I miss the choc chip cookies you used to be able to buy.
