  I purchased this magnetic holder at $18 for my father because he had a crap one that always dropped his phone after a few bumps.

  It clamped too hard and broke the van’s air con vents (one end snapped). Tried again and same thing happened. I can’t comment on the magnetic power.

      If you are referring which of the two types, the short one - but product itself seems okay, just be cautious if your car has fragile air con vents.

          @superforever: If I understood correctly, the one in the deal, not the crap previous one. The previous one just slid in, this one clamps with force (you twist a knob)

            @FrugalFindsDownUnder: OK, I am not sure but my understanding you have to manually lock the clamp yourself, unless you locked it too hard.

            This is how most air vent phone holder did.

              @superforever: Yeah I potentially could of done it too hard - it more so snapped as I was twisting the knob if I recall, I didn't think I felt resistance. But again, the vents on the van are very fragile unlike the ones in our cars.

  I have a few of these and they mount great to 3 cars. The fourth car has slightly narrower vanes so it's not solid.
