I've got some friends coming to visit Sydney at New Year so I'm looking to get some tickets/plans.
Our main problem is the budget and I know Oz-bargainers can stretch one!
The visitor's Max budget is about $200 for the ticket.
I had a look at: http://www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/new_years_eve_2012 but everything is over $200 and no BYO Alcohol.
Anyone know of a place where we can Bring our Own Alcohol and get a view of the fireworks? If BYO is the problem anyone know of places we can get a guaranteed spot and a bar for cheap?

Well if you want to bring your own alcohol, some friends hired out a hotel room a few years back which had a nice view of the fireworks. I have no idea how much it was though, so you'll have to have a look.
