Insane amount of money to spend on something you’ll only need for a few years.

Why does a stroller need to be stylish?

    • You have to let the other babies know yours is better than them somehow.

Few years x 3 kids. Its an investment

    • Isn't this thinking applicable to mobile phones as well? Why bother for high end phones when you know that they're only good for a few years and you can buy a cheapo one, right?

It’s not really about stylishness, but tends to be about a few key functions and features:

      1. How light it is and easy to steer especially with one hand for when your heavy toddler or even just baby refuses to sit in the pram? Anyhow, you’ll find one you’ll need one hand to do something else besides also pushing.
      2. Convertibility? Can it accomodate more seats to be converted into a double or even triple pram?
      3. Compactness and foldability? For the car boot? Or plane travels? Or even just damn stairs!
      4. Can the seat lie flat for naps? Is the shade cover complete for mostly darkness and breathable?
      5. Longevity? Some of these prams are workhorses and can last a decade+ depending on use and care. These have good re-sale value or at least you can hand them down to friends/family.
      6. Storage? Very handy as young kids need so much stuff on the go and then you also can use extra storage for a bit of shopping/errands.

Personally, I haven’t tried that Kmart pram so I can’t comment if it’s any good. To push a kid from A to B, pretty much any pram will do, but if you need a pram compatible with lifestyle requirements, you’ll need to consider the features. We ended up buying something on the mid-end. It was a good price compromise, but even with regular wiping and basic maintenance, after 3 years, it definitely not as good as it was new.

  • First time I walked into a baby store and asked to see baby stroller they showed me one which costs $1699. I thought I misheard the lady. Upper baby vista was the model.

Did they start you in the budget section? 😁

Can't recall the brand but when we were shopping there was one that was well over $2k that would smack you over the knuckles with a spring loaded lever every time you unlocked the brake. Stroller shopping as an engineer is an exercise in frustration as so many have atrocious usability…

I got a used Joolz off gumtree for like 10% of the original price (yes of, not off). All the fabrics are removable, give it a thorough clean once just so you know all the filth on it is yours lol. Been through my 2 kids and another friend's one in between. Sister in law borrowing it next, hopefully we won't get it back.

  • Awesome price.
Really don’t know how K mart rice cooker differs to the Tiger branded one. Hmmm. They both cook rice. Isn’t it?

  • Great price. I've had my joolz for 7.5yrs now and going strong. Well worth it at this price.
At 2k not so much. And yes there is a difference to the cheapo ones.

Do you still fit comfortably in it?
