Shame it's open heart , still pretty good value !

  • +1

Ooo this looks really nice. Pagani makes nice dress watches

    • Yes I've got a few, one of the first micro brands I bought. Most don't have good lume but hopefully this one does, one area they could improve. 24mm lug width is different.

      • +2

Pagani definitely aren’t a micro. They make tonnes of different watches and sell manny more.

        • +3

          Micro brand is the category.
          Not knocking them so relax.

          • @G-rig: Pagani are definitely not a micro brand lol. It’s a Chinese factory brand that probably does a lot of other labels.

Does anyone know the difference between the NH39 and the NH35 (which is in the OzBargain favourite Steeldive watches?)

    • +1

Looks like no date, Based on the 4r39. Nothing to worry about. In fact I wish that no date watches would use the nh38 instead of the nh35 with the ghost date position.

    • -2

      I like N95.

  • +4

Would this code not be better?

    • +1

Thanks Jiggy edited the post. Even cheaper now.

    Banger deal

Pretty cool it has Japanese movement

  • Does anyone know a similar budget watch with date display

      • Thanks mate, looks good but I'm after leather or fabric belt. I'm buying this for my dad who unfortunately can't wear metal band (due to surgery).

        • Grab a $4 nato band and you’re gold. I switch all my watches to nato bands

      • Is that one for lefties or something, looks strange all mirrored. They got the normal ones too.

Black rubber strap be good too .

      • It's very nice for a Rolex GMT homage, well spotted. Tomorrow will be same price here, [edit] full black only and the store feedback is better (over 96%).
        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005320097703.html

        The Batman is tempting me.

        • best buying from the Pagani Official store in general, but hey if the feedback is good and number of sales then worth a go if it's a lot cheaper.

  • What watch is this a "homage" of?

    • I couldn't figure it out either. Any chance this is an original design?

    • +3

Closest thing us the Panerai Submersible

      https://www.panerai.com/au/en/collections/watch-collection/s…

The PD-1674 is another NH39 open heart design, similar colours but the overall design is more classic diver.

      • The Panerai is a strong, chunky number. What it needs is a dash of this Seiko.
        https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/88188/106603/hearts.jp…
        Job done.

        • Based on that movement no doubt.

          • @G-rig: Based exactly on that movement. That Seiko uses the 4R39, in-house version of the NH39.

For the price of the Seiko it deserves a 6R movement but they don't have a similar one with both the open heart and 24 hr subdial.

            • @Astronaut Joe: Yeah I think I mentioned that above, good to know.

PS would many people bother servicing a Seiko 6r, or just replace the movement after 10y or something? Thinking about a Willard.

              • @G-rig: If it is a 4R, cheaper to replace. And I suspect this is what might well happen if you sent one to Seiko for "servicing".

6R, there's no drop in replacement like there is with the 4R (NH35), so Seiko has no reason not to gouge you on a replacement. Servicing would be cheaper.

Anyone else get "This code can't be used in conjunction with any others"? Can't figure out what code is on though.

    • I was initially trying on my phone and it wouldn’t accept the code. Ended up using my laptop and then the code worked

  • OOS? I get ‘page not found’ when I follow the link.

  • Does Rolex show time more accurate than this?

    • +1

Only if you believe in the famous quote

      "Time is money"

    • No.

      • Krok Rolex disseminating sublime commercial ad message of imperial royal supremacy during tennis grand slams

    • +2

Yes(at the risk of feeding the troll)

      A quick search :

      • Rolex +/-2 seconds
-This -20/+40 though likely to be much more accurate

Any reputable quartz watch will be more accurate than both.

      • -3

I have already bent a few trolls, do not worry your time will come, too.

    • +1

Get a quartz if you want accuracy.

      • Yes get a high frequency Bulova.

        • Bulova 96B104? It says Japanese quartz and analog.

          • @[Deactivated]: was talking about those Precisionist (Jetstar red etc), 16 ticks per second.

            • @G-rig: Thanks mate. I found them on Bulova au website. I am still learning this watch stuff. I am thorn btw wrist and pocket ones.

              • @[Deactivated]: Suerly wrist is more convenient. Hate too much stuff in my pockets - unless when you said pocket watch you meant your phone :P.

    • i sure hope so 🤷‍♂️

  • Which European country is this looks high class for a bargain

    • Confoederatio Helvetica Ina

  • The movement, a reliable one as well, as a replacement cost around $50, then add in the sapphire glass, 200m Wp and band….. It should be called the Oz bargain Bargain free model.
I just don't understand why it is this price point. It has to be a mistake unless they want brand recognition.

    • +4

Money laundering 101. Manufacture something using dodgy money, then wash it clean by selling that same something at irresistible prices

    • Imagine the the sheer volume of of parts that they order. Their labour cost is very low too. As far as I’m aware, they don’t sponsor any tennis players or race car drivers either. Not this watch, but a lot of the PD watches are just photocopies of Swiss or Japanese watches.

      • Lol no tennis player or race car driver would ever agree to be sponsored by Pagani Design

  • Waiting for a deal on a Pagani BC /s

  • +1

It's quite well done, but what even is it? Yeah, I know, I know, a watch.
But it's really too big to be a dress watch.
It's capable, but hardly a "traditional" dive watch.

It's unique, I'll give it that!

    • +3

Specwise I think it beats anything else ever posted for $75.00.

I reckon there will be some purchases tonight after a few driunks.

      • +1

Yep. It's like one of those OTT street machines.
        Don't drink and drive kids.

      • +2

        I didn't require drinks before purchase…

      • +1

        few driunks.

Pretty sure that's a purchase there

        • +1

          Drink and shop ftw

          • +1

@G-rig: Best way to do it. If you drink enough, you get a surprise in the post.

Might try this method with a Timefactors watch i'm undecided about.

  • +1

this is an automatic right - no need to worry about changing batteries (but yes you loose time accuracy)?

    • +1

yep no batteries to replace, but if you don’t wear it’s stops running and you need to set time again, consider solar and no batteries to replace curate and always ready to go though does cost more, quartz batteries are cheap to replace and i’m getting 3yrs + just need to make sure they are fresh and decent brand eg renata.

      • haha i was just watching a nice youtube review vid and had the blue one in my cart and now sold out

      • Have compared other battery brands to Renata?

  • +1

Any 36mm or 38mm open hearts on sale?

  • Where is everyone getting replacement watch bands, like leather, nato and mesh?

    • +1

Ali express prob the cheapest but quality hit and miss.
I really like the Barton Silicone Elites, have a look at their site.
Discount for signup and randomly, some nice two piece canvas and natos too.

    • Here's a few that I remember purchasing from -

      • Holben's Fine Watchbands
      • Aliexpress/eBay/Amazon (including picking up one or two near new bands)
      • Cheapest Nato Straps
      • Crown and Buckle
      • WatchGecko
      • CountyComm
      • I've got a few from WatchGecko before, not cheap and postage is more from the UK in general vs free from Barton US with min spend.
Guess ok if promos like 30% off etc.

Most people won't spend $30-50 on a strap if these homages are only $80-100. Shame none of the aussie ones are that cheap (strapify ozstraps etc).

        Ebay/Amazon/Ali goes ok depending.

        • +1

My eBay/Amazon purchases are all from reputable/recommended sellers or second-hand products from reputable brands and sellers with decent feedback.

I picked up a few cheap natos of AliExpress years ago and was not impressed with the quality, especially the buckles. Now I would generally look for external reviews or high feedback scores and read through a selection of reviews.

          • @ihfree: Agree, it's not worth cheaping out and most stuff on there is rubbish plus the wait.

Quality and comfort is worth it if going to be wearing them a lot.
Bartons are also on amazon, few bucks more but better getting the next day instead of two weeks
The US is cheaper if you're ordering 3+ straps.
