  I know using SSD for cold storage is frowned upon but can anyone share their personal experience?
  Looking to store and potentially refresh (wipe and rewrite) every 2 years or more if I can get away with it.
  Will be 2 SSD in addition to 2 (aging) HDD and a cloud storage.

    I have had files on Evo 960 drives that are accessed about once a year, and on the shelf the rest of the time. No problems so far and they are many years old.
