My Dell Monitor Has a Cracked Screen. Can Someone Help Me Source a Display Panel?

The screen is cracked. I'm sad, I think I paid $250 for the S3221QS now it's $600. I don't want to pay $600 for 5 year old tech and I know it's a 2021 edition and it's only 2023 now.

So I found the panels, looks like they're made by TPV which makes AUO and AOC and Philips Monitors.

I can't find the same specs anywhere

While you may find a replacement compatible panel there is the risk of having defects if you end up with a surplus panel that came out from the same factory, for example, you may have worse backlights (in the case of panels with integrated backlights), noticeable amounts of dead pixels, worse contrast, and all sorts of other things that the original screen went through a QA process over.

If you cannot find a replacement part in Australia, then you're going to have to ship it over from China, and that 10% GST + shipping fee is the part that's going to kill the deal. (expect to pay $$$ for the packing, delivery and insurance, money that is better spent on just buying a better monitor locally. I'm sure the S3221QS has much stiffer competition going into 2024.)

Also https://www.panelook.com/ I believe is the best site to look for panel part num# and spec sheets

    • I'll take that into consideration

  • Won't the panel cost almost as much as the complete monitor?
Keep an eye out for the Philips 328P6V :-)

    • Dual Monitor, probably not but it's definitely not worth it.

  • It's not worth it, just buy a new screen that you can afford to the specs that are acceptable for you.
