VoLTE on POCO X5 Pro

So I have a POCO X5 Pro that I use with Gomo (Optus network) and I received a text telling me that I am using a device that may not support 4G VoLTE.

If I don't rectify this by September 2024 then I won't be able to receive calls or sms.

So my understanding was Optus was 4G Band 28 FDD, which the Poco supports according to the specs https://www.po.co/global/product/poco-x5-pro-5g/specs

Does anyone know of a reason I am not currently using VoLTE and how I can get this to work?

Cheers

    1) Dial *#*#4636#*#* and an internal menu "Verify" should pop up.
    2) Your "Provisioning Volte" should be toggled to Off at the moment. At this point open a new phone dialer and type *#*#86583#*#* and an on screen label should come (ignore it because it seems to say the opposite). If you now go back to the Verify menu it should tell you that the Provisioning volte is On, although it's still grey.
2.1) Since you're fixing stuff, dial *#*#869434#*#* so that you can enable calls over Wifi as well.
2.2) If you own two SIMs with two Volte Carriers enable the other one as well, repeating the steps on point 2)
    3) Go to Sim Cards and mobile networks —> Go to the SIM you're using (one of the upper big boxes) —> You should now see a new option "Use VoLTE", already enabled.
You should see an option to enable Calls over Wifi as well, with a preference over Wifi or Mobile Network.

    Found these instructions here.
If it's working, you should have the volte icon up top like in this screenshot

    • Brilliant post, thanks so much

      • Agreed. Saved me from having to move on from my poco1

  • Telstra Volte works but not Vowifi even with codes on my Xiaomi X5 Pro Optus and Vodafone OK
