Wurkkos WK40 Multicolour Torch with 21700 Battery, US$28.97 (~A$45) Delivered @ Wurkkos

70

Fun torch, great little Xmas gift perhaps, or one for the collection.

"WK40 is a interesting flashlight. It has 4 color LEDs, white, red, blue and green, which can be turned on separately, and can also be colored gradient and flashing. There are two switches, the tail switch adjusts the mode, and the magnetic ring switch adjusts the brightness. It is powered by one 21700 Li-ion rechargeable battery and is rechargeable via USB-C for optimum convenience.

Kit comes with 21700 (5000mAh?) battery and "a short 20350 tube and a diffuser, the short tube could work with a 18350 battery as well."

  • Crazy! I was just looking up flashlights.

Looking to buy for a tradie friend. Ts22/21.

    How does this compare?

    Edit: typo

There are better qualified Ozbargainers to answer that than me mf but fwiw the two you mention are more 'traditional" torches whereas the WK40 is a fun machine with enough white light to suit many users. Yours have much higher output and can operate as mini powerbanks at a pinch. Currently the TS22 is about $A20 dearer than the older TS21.

TS21 uses Anduril2 which gives access to quite a bit of information and flexibility for anyone wanting to play around. Its emitters give CRI (accurate colour rendition) if that's important (preferable imo but plenty of people don't care). The TS22 single emitter is low CRI and uses a simpler interface iirc.

If your tradie wants to light up a barn the TS22 would work nicely. This bloke certainly liked it: https://flashlightreviews.ca/index.php/2023/07/04/wurkkos-ts…

If he/she just wants a reliable utilitarian light and doesn't care about body colour choice then there's a HUGE range of affordable everyday carries to select from at both Sofirn and Wurkkos (basically the same stable apparently).

Keep your eyes out for flash sales (and codes, esp for new users) at sofirnlight.com and wurkoss.com.

      • What a reply!

I was finding it hard to get a clear comparison off reddit but this has helped me understand better the differences!

        Thanks for the detailed reply!

        • Thx mf, more than my reply deserved frankly. "light up a barn" was obviously a figure of speech. There are much higher-powered torches around but many aren't really pocketable, and run times on high are pretty limited. That's why people often have multiple lights.
