Best Place to Buy 3D Printer Filament in 2023?

It’s been a few years since I have used my 3D printers, and now I have a project I have designed (an angled mount for a Reolink PoE Video Doorbell to prop it to vertical from the angle of the linear boards on the front of the house) and want to print but I am out of the black PLA that I need to use to match the body of the doorbell.

Early days i used Blueprinted.co, but then they went away so i switched to 3dFillies, but they seem to have basically no stock atm so not sure if they are on their way out as well?

Where do you get well priced good quality PLA now in 2023?

I was happy with the filament from inkstation

  • Esun from https://cubictech.com.au/ when on sale - works out to be ~$23 / KG. Note: that was around June last year, I feel like prices might have shifted a bit since then.

I've also tried the kingroon PETG - when bought in bulk (10x 1KG), it came down to $14 / KG. I and others had great experience with the PETG but be warned, Kingroon absolutely suck when it comes to customer service.

  • I just get the Comgrow PLA from Amazon AU, usual price is about $30. Haven't had any issues with it.

  • I get mine pretty cheap from Amazon

  • I bought various coloured PLA 1kg rolls from https://www.3dprintingsolutions.com.au/
after a deal here. Quality was good, delivery prompt. Shipping may be an issue, free in Adelaide at a low threshold.

  • There's often a local store that sells at good prices compared to online, for me in Adelaide that's 3Dprintworx who have good prices on esun filaments. They're very friendly and passionate so I'm happy to support them :)

    https://siddament.com.au/

Has filament cheaper than almost anywhere and the quality is good. Pickup is also
    available from Parramatta in Sydney.

    • +1 my friend uses siddament and he approves it.

I've also dealt with Sid with printing 3D projects (I don't have a 3D printer), he's honest, knowledgeable and is passionate about his business and all my 3D projects turned out well.

    • I've been meaning to try their filament but every time I look they've had no stock of the colours I'm interested in. Getting pretty low on black PETG too so will probably have to grab another roll of esun.

    • Would be nice if Sid started stocking and selling PLA+.

  • I'm in SEQ and really like 3DKingdom based in Toowoomba. They do eSun for a really good price. You can get PLA+ for $25.85/kg. I think shipping to Bundy should be around $13-15.

If, as you make clear, you want to buy it "in 2023", at least you won't need a time machine.

    • The price is going up in 2024 so wants it at 2023 prices.
