Hellyers Road Pinot Noir Finish Single Malt Australian Whisky 700ml $78.40 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Dan Murphy's

300

This is an interesting whisky that has a nice Pinot finish from the glass.

Normally about $110 so is a good one to have on the shelf at this price IMO.

Fair few bottles still on the shelf at Dans in Charlestown.

Two of Tasmania's greatest assets merge together here in the Hellyers Road Distiller Pinot Noir Finish Original Single Malt Whisky. Tasmanian grown malted barley and pure rainwater are harnessed along with casks previously used to mature fine Tasmanian Pinot Noir to produce this truly tailored malt whisky. • Showing as $111.99 via your link for me

    • Looks like depends on store having stock. My local is $110 with no stock, QV Melbourne showing $84

    • Was 111.99 until I logged into my Dan Murphy's account

  • Our very favourite whisky - smooth and luscious. At my local Dans $111 for C&C , but $78.40 for delivery. Stocked up!!

    • It's a phenomenal whiskey. It's beats most of the single malt scotches I've had at this price range (say RRP $90-120). I've had trouble finding discounts on it, though. This is a good find @SwampCrack ty 🙇🏼‍♂️

  • Oooo, 46.2%. This would go great with vanilla Pepsi Max.

  • Wondering if Australian whisky’s are overly expensive for what they are ?

    • Australian whiskys have taken a few first places at the World Whiskies Awards.

      • Just was gauging other options out there against the Aussie ones. I have tried a few Aussie ones already but nothing out of the world. Just a general taught and I also might not be great at identifying good whisky.

        • +3

I have to agree that most are pretty average but there are a few out there that are incredible but then as you say, overly expensive.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Hellyers Road. I find it does a pretty good job showcasing all the things that make Tassie whisky good but still somewhat affordable.

    • +1

      Many are IMO.

    • Yup agreed. The best in my opinion is probably Lark but not keen on their 1/2 litre bottles at 700ml prices. Pretty blatant shrinkflation.

I visited Hellyers last year and had a taste of their base range and enjoyed the distillery tour. Its okay but for most of the price points there are better options out there.

  • 92.10 for me?

  • nice find, got one

  • $86.25 at BWS Hawthorn if you have rewards points or cashback to take advantage of.
