        I mean lots of companies sell your information. To think a super budget Chinese company won't is very naive.

        At the very least, they'll sell your buying habits to advertising companies. There is also the mandatory CCP data access, but I suppose that's not "selling" it.

        Unfortunately it's just the world we live in.

        Quite a lot of evidence suggesting that Temu's main purpose is to sell information. They are the same people who built Pinduoduo which was taken down from Google Play for suspicions of installing malware.

        I'm really not a fan of how that article is written as it too has a lot of hallmarks of a scam - fear inducing and unnecessary sensationalist language.

        However, what they say is generally quite fair. Each little bit by itself isn't necessarily bad, but the fact it's doing a lot of those things is generally bad. From a country with a history of doing whatever, I'd not be using the app.

    Temu is good when you're new to their platform. After making few purchases, the prices just become crap and in some cases, the goods are even more expensive than Amazon & eBay and it's like 50% sale already on Temu :).

    Thanks. Used Temu three times so far. All brilliant experiences.

    However, The third time, shopback refused to credit my upsized Cashback as I was late by just a min for their promo window period. Fine I guess. Will stick to CR now.

        I spent thousands at SB and thousands more on the gift cards sold there so i was abit disappointed they were not willing to provide bit of goodwill for just being a minute or two late. Especially after their Deliveroo gift card fiasc caused me a lot of trouble. Oh well. This is gonna me make less attracted to their promos from now on.

        As an aside, I asked for a refund from Temu for that entire order due to this and surprisingly they initiated the refund straight away while the package was already dispatched on international transit and was delivered couple days later! I’m really liking Temu so far lol.
