  • Doesn't mention any conditions so Cashback might be valid for JR Pass Japan as well.

this. I am a little bit worry. If eligible, a 21 day pass will earn $145 cashback.
It says T&C applies but can't find anywhere except "All Formula 1 products are not eligible".

    • Yes not sure on this.

    • You can count on it "not tracking" or some other technical error. ShopBack isn't like buying something from Officeworks that's a price error but they honour it anyway. It will be cancelled and you'll be up for the full cost.

Also recieved a 25x Krisflyer link in my email directly from Pelago.

I have personally used Pelago a few times and experience has been good.

    • Got the link too… But not sure if this and Shopback will stack… As the email specifically says click through the link and make a booking.

      • +1

        Nope won't stack. Either or.

I would prefer 25x personally as that's worth more

        • $100 spend limit though on the 25x though.

          • @CheapBrah: oops! Cheers missed that part, not that I am planning to spending over that :D

  • Thinking to get the JR pass: https://www.pelago.co/en-AU/activity/pyjhj-jr-pass-whole-jap…

I'm a bit worried as it sounds like they will have to mail it from overseas. Does anyone have any experience ordering JR pass from them?
Also, what does "Your chosen date" mean for the JR pass? Is this the date you want the JR pass to be activated? I thought the JR pass will be valid from whenever you exchange the order with the actual pass once you get to Japan, as long as it's within 3 months from the date of purchase.

chosen date = the day you want to receive your physical exchange voucher in Australia.
I would set it as 3 business days before my departure.

      • Thanks. In that case, there shouldn't be any harm selecting an earlier date to be safe?

        • The only harm is that you will have an earlier exchange deadline, 3m from the date you selected.
It's printed on on the exchange voucher.
It will arrive earlier anyway, no need to worry about that.
I have never heard anyone who receive it late.

          • @TanedaR: So I am booked to leave 30th Nov and land 30th Nov. First trip needed 1st Dec

So the “available date” I should choose, should I choose mid November?

            • @31mop: yes, but I would say a week in advance is more than enough.

    • Page states

Please include the name as per passport, delivery address, contact number and departure date to Japan to receive the physical Exchange Order upon checkout

Which sounds identical to any other ticket reseller site (e.g. Klook), they wouldn't bother timing the letter to arrive on an exact date since there's no benefit to it. They just need to make sure that your travel date is within 90 days, so that they can generate the exchange order and mail it out ASAP after you make the purchase.

The 90 day exchange window would therefore start from the date of purchase confirmation, which is probably within a day or two after payment when they've generated your exchange order.

  • Seems unlikely to work with the 10% first time user deal, can anyone confirm?

  • 3 transactions already tracked !!

    • Is JR pass eligible?

      • Haven't booked JR pass as I only need few Shinkasen tickets which I booked through klook with 20% off… Booked Hakone pass, Kansai thru pass etc and all tracked…

      • Can see there is free cancelation for JR Pass before activity date… So worth a try? It's awesome Cashback if it tracks fine…

        • +1

It says free cancellation before activity date when you go to select preferences, but says no cancellation allowed when scrolling into the additional information below 🤔

I bought 2 of the the 14 day one and Shopback has tracked it for a $227.54 cashback.

  • Well I bought JR on this deal and hasn’t tracked yet, after 2 hours, so don’t think it will work.

    • +1

      Just received tracking email.
21 day pass tracked, $145.56 cashback. All good. :)

      • I realised I stupidly placed an order for the JR Pass listing that says "Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei" in it. It let me complete the order even though I put my Australian address. Hopefully there is no issue and they will mail it to me without having to update the order as that might mean that I will lose the cashback :(

        • +1

          Omg… Sorry to hear that.
I think it depends whether they have 2 different agents for S,M,B & Global.
(i.e. I bought a Melbourne Skybus ticket and there is a "Experience Oz" logo on it.)
If so, your order may be cancelled :(

          • @TanedaR: Surprisingly just got the booking confirmation from Pelago with a voucher attached saying that they are preparing to mail me the physical exchange order. The voucher is issued by GlobalTix. Is yours issued by GlobalTix as well?

            • +1

@buddy03: Congratulations! yes, mine is also GlobalTix.

      • Hi TanedaR just wanting to check how long did it take for the transaction to track?

        • within a few hours.
If i didn't tracked in 48 hours, try to contact rep.

Thanks OP. I woke up to find everything tracked for my Singapore travel purchases! Happy days

  • +2

Tracked for my JR pass! THANKS OP huge savings for me <3
And to think that I was upset I missed out on the recent $99 klook deal (this one saved me $308 hehe)

  • Hi @gotyourback I purchased a skybus ticket during this 23% deal but it didn't tracked.
I reported missing cashback but it's now only tracked as standard rate not 23%.
    could you please help? thanks.

  • To those who may concern
Although I set my departure date as late Oct when I purchased, I have received my JR pass today.
It's shipped by DHL from Indonesia, "local currency" is IDR.
Date of issue is 30 Sep, and exchange deadline is 29 Dec.
which is in line with my previous forum post.
