Top tip: if you have a small dog, buy the tablet for a dog twice as big and cut it in half - they are literally all the same mush just squeezed into different tablet sizes.
Yes I know the manufacturer will tell you not to do this - but they're hardly a disinterested party. My vet OTOH says this is fine.
Just trying to figure this out - my dog is currently 6.8kg, not sure how much bigger she'll get, she may end up around 7.5kg. I figure I can just buy the 7.6-15kg pack, and if she ends up below 7.5 serve her up half portions, if she gets to around 9kg then just give her whole doses…does that sound reasonable?
Should we go for the biggest then to save the most?
I guess it depends on how confident you feel cutting a tablet into portions other than half. My two dogs are 8 and 14kg, so I cut a 15-30kg in half and give the bigger half to the bigger dog. With weight ranges so large then the dosage can't be very strict.
