  • How is the quality with this shop, long term use? I remember it opened up some years ago at my local Westfield and the rrp was highhhhh and quality only soso…

I'll let others comment on that, but quite a few of our products have reviews from customers so might be worth reading a couple if that helps!

      Cheers!

I'm gonna sound like a shill, but I'm a pretty big fan of these guys. I don't know if the quality is the same as it was 2-3 years ago, but I bought 4 hoodies, 4 pairs of pants, a few t-shirts, and a light jacket, and they are almost all still in regular rotation. The hoodies have pilled up a bit, two pairs of pants eventually tore around the crotch, and the jacket has faded a little - but the zippers all still work, none of them have had threads pull or anything like that. I am honestly surprised - and having just looked up my email receipts for that order, the entire order cost me ~$220.

One thing I noticed is that the brand name on some clothing I bought was "Park" - not sure if owned by these guys too, or just distributors - but that stuff has lasted better than the other 'brands' I got from them.

I'm going to grab some more stuff during this sale, so fingers crossed the quality is still there.

      • Hey mate,

All of the brands we stock are our own in house brands. We discontinued the park label a couple of years ago after a bit of feedback but you'll find that all of the stuff that could be labelled park today is now under the Hallenstein Brothers branding. All the edgier stuff is labelled Absent.

Quality should still be there! We deal with the same manufacturers as back then as well as a few new ones.

        Cheers!

      • I'm with you! Their hoodies are very good quality especially when paying these extra sale prices. I've gotten hoodies from other places like General Pants and Culture Kings but ones from here are more comfy and warmer too. They're my main place I buy clothes from now and I see some other comments saying not great quality but its better quality than a lot of other places I've shopped. I've got pants, t shirts, overshirts, jackets and hoodies from them at great prices (I shop during sales like these) and they've all lasted years. The hoodies that are currently $23.99 definitely worth.

I saw someone say they paid NZD conversion but I'm pretty sure it's based in NZ and when you enter the site they'll have an option to make sure you're shopping AUD. So that's more of a mistake on their part.

The one criticism I'll say is their sizing feels a bit different and at times inconsistent, like each size feels bigger than what we have here (stated by OP). I'm a medium in most places in Aus but their Mediums are a bit big on me. Also, the "basic tees" Small feels a size smaller than their more quality tees. So if you're getting Smalls of their other shirts get Medium of their basic tees. Since no physical store near me I couldnt try before buying but now I generally get a size down what I would in most stores here

I bought a few hundred worth of clothes from Hallenstein's over the years, nothing really lasted, and the material was sheer most of the time.

You get what you pay for.

  • How do we see items with additional 20% off

    • The prices are as marked but for a more clear list of everything that is extra 20% off you can go into the offers section and click the extra 20% off outlet link. That will exclude anything that is on sale but doesnt have the extra 20% off.

  • Be careful, the last time I bought from Hallenstein Brothers, I got charged the AUD price in NZD, which incurred foreign exchange rate fees to my credit card.

    • +1

If this happens to anyone for any reason, we will refund the foreign exchange fee.

Sometimes AU customers end up in the NZ checkout, and end up being charged in NZD. We are always happy to refund the charge when shown proof of the charge :)

      Cheers!

  • I could be completely wrong here but by the looks of photos. most of the products seem to be pre-loved ones

Do these still come with bonus chocolates on delivery :D

Unfortunately no, but now that you mention it, probably worth having a look to see if we can bring it back!

      Cheers!

For those that do not know, this is the Mens version of Glassons. Make of that what you may.

Honestly, with only 4 stores in SEQ but Glassons has stores across Sydney, ACT, Melbourne and Adelaide, I doubt that many will bother with buying online until stores are opened locally and you have a chance at seeing the product rather than just buying blindly online. I saw one store in Auckland when I was there a number of years back, but it looked not that different to what you would find in Jay Jays or Connor.
