Trade in Games after EB Games Sale

Looking to trade in some PS5 games for a preorder.

Would doing it after the sale, increase the value of the trade in?

Example:
During sale it's $25
After sale it's back to original price $50

After the sale, would I receive a higher trade in value?

    Maybe, maybe not…

    It’s EB.
Immediately after a sale is another sale.

who even shops at EB these days.
are they still $30 more expensive than other aus retailers with their launch titles..

    • They price match, you get carrots, enough carrots extends your free seven day rental to a 10 day rental. So many times I've bought a new release game with the intention of returning it. Sometimes I get lazy and keep it, but yokes me on I guess.

In the past I have found that when you trade in you get around 1/3 the price of the preowned price. I am level 4 which might skew results. But I'd recommend checking the preowned price for the game you want to trade and jump in when it looks "good". It's quick and easy @ EB but if you want more money and have the time to deal with lowballers then FB marketplace, ebay or gumtree

Yea, I'm looking to use the offer, 2 games for $30 from JB hi-fi and trade those in once EB sales end.

Just an update, trade in values increase after the sale.

  • If a preowned version of a game goes on sale in a month, the trade-in price will obviously drop. Once that on-sale game goes back up in price, then yes the trade in price will generally increase. That trade in price is dependent on stock levels within the company itself.

You're looking at a matter of $5-10 difference though, at best.
