Received an email this morning about another Netflix price increase. Currently only subscribed as family members use it, but very likely to cancel it now as it’s not worth the cost.
It is still significantly cheaper than Australia, but my other Turkish subscriptions have not gone up nearly as much as Netflix.

The price hike is ridiculous. Basically a 42% increase in price!!
We also had to stop our netflix :(
Just in case you have Amazon Prime, don't forget there is some free content on Prime videos.

Jul 2019: 29.99 TL
May 2021: 40.99 TL (+36.68%)
May 2022: 57.99 TL (+41.47%)
Nov 2022: 69.99 TL (+20.69%)
Feb 2023: 97.99 TL (+40.01%)
Oct 2023: 149.99 TL (+53.07%)
However, to be fair - it seems that the increases are (broadly) in line with the approximate devaluation of the TL against USD.
100% expected as everyone is raising their rices given the devaluation of the Lira.
I just got this email now.
I guess we still use it enough to keep, also have parents using it at their place, and Turkey do not charge for that.

Spotify went up 33% for me last month. From 30 TL to 40 TL. Still less than AU$2.50, so can't complain.
Tbh I barely watch Netflix anymore. At < $100 a year, I was ok with just having it there ‘just in case’. Might be time to cut it off now though.
Also, I got a chuckle from the email subject saying “we’re raising our prices - here’s why”, only for the email to provide no explanation.

Just got the email for a price rise to 229.99 TRY I only keep Netflix for my parents I have no use for it anymore so will look at something else for the parents

Starting March 9th, 2024, the Premium plan price will change and your monthly price will be updated to TL229.99.
just changed down to standard, apparently Pakistan is now the cheapest
I am just wondering how the F are people in turkiye coping with massive increases in prices ?? blaming overseas users for inflating their prices.
or the ones in that country having subscription are just super rich as F ?
Do you realise that everything in their country is having constant large price rises? Their Jan inflation. rate was 64.86%, it was 85% in Oct 2022, it's been above 10% since Nov 2019. As their currency devalues, external prices must rise.
