The place you bought your new ones from? It's already included in the price.

Facebook Marketplace.. Dont recon they will appreciate the drop off ;)

  • Your local shire charges $6.70 per tyre.

    • That's no where near Adelaide.

OP made a revision. They originally had no location so I just went off their profile location which is Mildura.

  • Green waste

  • Details of council would be helpful.

Cut them in half and turn them into little flower beds. Or make four tyre swings for little people.

Make garden bed out of your tyres ….

  • Why have you not bothered calling a bunch of car tyre shops ??

if the tyre is any decent, sell on marketplace for $0.

I was once able to get rid a $h!tly gotten tyre by just asking a tyre shop, if I could dispose it of, asked how much, They asked how many tyres, I said only 1.
He said ah that's okay we can just take it no charge.

So yeah give a few a call, maybe one of them is like that, if not they probably charge you $2-$10 something like that, otherwise pay at dumbing/recycling center

    • Ive bought used tyres and need to dispose of the old ones. So wont be going through a shop.

Old tyres are Roadstone tyres and where awful since new. Wore at different rates, so the tyres went all shingly and noisy.

Now have died by leaking through the sidewall (air is coming out along the edge of the word "Roadstone". Just rubbish.

Bought near new used Michelin tyres. So much smoother and quiet.

      • Yea honestly used tyres are crap. I never buy them, bought it once and it lasted like 5 months may be.
Always get new ones- at cheapest rate (of your desired brands if you want a branded tyre).
I get mine always from tyroola (and tyre disposal is always included within it.

Bought near new used Michelin tyres

how much cheaper exactly was it buying straight up new in the end ??? , probably not that much difference if you get ones on a promotion deal (or stack them with other promo deals).

        • They were on Tyroola for $342 each + fitting on top, minus $50 each if I bought 4.

I bought the used tyres 2 for $80 (then the same $20 fitting each on top).
They still have the new nobblies on them. Done 2000km so far, very impressed.

I guess I know what im looking for. I know which tread styles are noisey, which run straight, compounds, date stamps for age etc.

These tyres are for the other halfs car (and we are selling it anyway).
I have always gone for used tyres. My car has Goodyear Ecos. Im about 55000km in with a few mm left. They were $50 each fitted).

BUT.. Never worked out what to do with the used ones. Cut one up with a recip to put in the bin once…way too hard!

          • @tunzafun001: Take them to the tyre shop. They will charge you the standard rate to get rid of them.
