Techfast Sept Build Delivery Time - Pending from 20 Sept 2023 with No Clear ETA of Shipping Date - Edit: shipped on 10 Oct 2023.

Full disclaimers: I know Techfast has been known for slow communications when they were busy and most of their customers are happy with their pre-built PCs.

However with that said my order put in with them from 20 Sept has not been shipped yet. Granted I made a few request to change/upgrade parts and they were very responsive towards those requests but then radio silent aftwards. I was promised that my PC would be assembled and tested yesterday and that it would be shipped earlier next week but I got a feeling it will be another week waiting and if I am lucky then I might get my hands on the new PC by the end of next week.

So yeah just a heads up for people wanting to get their pre-built PCs from Techfast that the actual waiting time could be up to 13-18 business days or more which translated to around 3-4 weeks or more. Wished that they could have let me know a bit earlier that the build time could take up to a month or so so I could arrange for staying at home for pick up as it is a heavy parcel and I would rather not having to go to the local AusPost to pick it up.

EDIT: Caleb has reached out earlier this week and my PC has been shipped on Tuesday 10 Oct. They did offer to upgrade my B650 K to B650 X AX so that the build could be completed. Good guys Techfast for handling the situation immaculately and apologies for being a bit of a Ken for pushing you a bit hard. Promised next PC upgrade will be with you guys as well!

It's pretty well known by now that Techfast are anything but "fast". Seems to be the case for a very long time.

I personally wouldn't be happy waiting 3-4 weeks for a PC unless you specifically ordered custom setup (e.g. watercooling) or a part that's not in stock they have to order in and you are clearly advised it will cause delays.

I did request for an 850W PSU which was in stock and the change to Ryzen 9 7900 which was in their inventory around Tues 03 Oct. However my build was not completed until yesterday Friday 06 Oct and since this is the weekends I have zero idea where the progress is at. So that was another 3 days where my build was, well, in queue. I mean I expected a bit more from someone who paid for some sizable upgrades but hey I guess that was not enough for me to jump the queue.

Also just learned that the Ryzen 9 7900 will not come with the stock Wraith Prism cooler. I went with their recommended AIO 240mm anyway but it would be nice to also have the stock cooler but Caleb contacted me via email stating that since they got those CPUs in bulk it did not come with the cooler. Not a deal breaker for me but still wished that communications could be better.

So the 20th Sep date is false - the part you asked for, and was told was not in stock, only arrived this week?

You are asking where your PC is when you've only been waiting three days??

The parts costing more is what you paid for, you likely didn't deliver a sizeable profit margin. And as mentioned in the post above, it took 3 days to build once the parts arrived. That seems more than reasonable and they prioritised your order anyway because 3 days is pretty quick.

That is the norm in the PC building world. OEM CPUs don't come with coolers.

Sounds like you're just being precious.

Fair point. Perhaps I was being a Ken regarding that. Will follow up with Techfast and see how that goes next week.

Well, that makes the story quite a bit different from what you first let on then. So it's not a 3-4 week wait with no information provided.

Also it's normal not to be provided with the stock cooler as they usually get trays of CPUs for builds rather then opening retail boxed versions which cost more.

Yes I realized I'm the Wifi card taped to the side kind of guy today on Ozbargain. Just that this is my first pre-built PC and that was quite a few doughs I spent on it so just couldn't temper my expectations.

Anw let's hold some breath for next week.

          • @Grey 13: you should edit your OP, this is rough on techfast, i think they're doing a good job

Nearly 12 months does seem like a long time.
