Wifi 7 is just arriving. Personally I wouldn't be spending this much on a router without it.

Intel are going to bring out 2x2 WifFi 7 PC adaptors soon.

Usually we down vote on these kind of comments no?… why buy iPhone 14 when iPhone 15… iPhone 16 will be out 'soon'.

I did say it was just my opinion. Informing people about a relatively obscure tech development is not a bad thing. Wifi generations are much less frequent than iPhone.

The blurb for the product describes it as bleeding edge but it is not, which helps explain why the price is on the way down.

If you like this then go for it, just make an informed decision.

  • And Pixel 8 Pro has Wifi 7 too!

Jeez, that type of money is entering CAT cable installation territory.

Thanks for this. Been researching about this router for the last couple of weeks and plan to go into Officeworks tomorrow for a price match. $917 is a great deal for this router when you consider a smart network switch with 2x 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps LAN ports cost more than this router alone. The only thing it doesn't have is WiFi 7 but the TP Link BE900, which is the only router that I know of that offers WiFi 7, isn't out yet in Australia and the RRP for that one is $1200.

Not enough antennas for the price…

  • Any recommendation for cheaper router with wifi 6E and 10G port please?
I need the 10G port for my NAS.
I'm after cheaper price point because need to spend on 10G switch as well for my wired stuff.
    Appreciate sharing experiences.

Do you need 10G to your wireless clients? If you're buying a 10G switch anyway you'll have an easier time with a 2.5G router, e.g. the Netgear RAXE300 for around $550, or a unifi 6 enterprise. If you can do without 6E, then the ASUS RT-AX89X seems like a good deal for $450 at scorptec - has SFP+ and 10G RJ45 so it's pretty flexible. If your Nas only needs one 10G client wired then that'd stop you needing a 10G switch as well.

      • thanks for sharing thoughts.
I don't need 10G speed for wireless but was after wifi 6E to get max out of my iPhone 15 pro but not essential.
My Synology 723+ has 10G NIC and I am overhauling all my network to connect everything in high speed. That was the why I was planning to get 10G switch as well to give same speed connection to everything.
Maybe something like ASUS RT-AX89X looks like the solution here?

  • Hi, anyone knows what would be the maximum and average reach distance for this kind of routers/modems?
