Strategies to Prevent Trolleys in Front of Your House

Hello OzBargainers,

I wanted to start a discussion on a common issue that many of us may face - trolleys being left in front of our homes. It can be frustrating and inconvenient when this happens, but there are steps we can take to prevent it.

Let's share our experiences and ideas on how to keep trolleys from being put in front of our houses.

Solutions from below:
https://trolleytracker.com.au (they don't do Coles trolleys)
https://www.snapsendsolve.com/
Report it to the shop

Update: these are coin operated ones that I am referring to but it seems like the coins have already been removed but connecting two trolleys

Issues: robbers can use the trolleys to jump your fence and that's why I'm worried about trolleys sitting around

Comments

  • Can't stand when people do this. I would put up a really obvious camera.

  • Robbers don't go out thinking… "I hope I find some shopping trolleys so I can climb over…" They're looking for easy and weak entry points in and out like old wooden windows they can lever up and pull the lock screws out using a small prybar, not collecting Darwin Awards when the trolley tips and puts their head into the concrete footpath. Though I suppose their IQ is pretty low to thieve when the government encourages legal methods of theft like welfare payments.

That said… Coming out yelling with a CORDLESS CHAINSAW running should break that habit. Or just move if you really can't ignore it, because you'd eventually be arrested and there's no way to stop it anyway. Cure one today there will be another along tomorrow.

  • Why dont you keep one for yourself? The cost of one trolley is actually quite expensive and they are really useful.

  • Cover your lawn and nature strip in rocks.
