    720 native. Buyer beware

    • +4

Looks good - in the bin

Buyer doesn't have to beware. The page makes it clear in several places it's 720p.

The description also clearly states "1080p Supported".

Props to the seller for not hiding this.

Is it a good buy? Probably not. There are other real 1080P projectors for this price every now and then.

Of course, all these cheaper projectors don't tell us the real brightness. The cheap 1080P unit I bought claims 9500Lumins, but my Epson, with a claimed rating of less than 25% of that eats it for breakfast!

The description also clearly states "1080p Supported".

        Yes but the title doesn't.

Does that mean we can put 4K as well ? In theory 4K is also supported it'll just downscale to 720p

        • Yes but the title doesn't.

          The title of what?

          • -1

@photonbuddy: It has been updated from saying 1080P to 720P already =)

            • @IgorPrev: Given it still said "1080P Supported" When both Seph and I posted, the title did actually say that!

      • +3

I think maybe @Seph was just making it more obvious - the OP's post only mentions 1080p in the description and the actual native resolution, 720p, was conveniently left out, as is the norm for most of these projector deals. It might be easy for some to just click thru and make a purchase they regret.

It might be easy for some to just click thru and make a purchase they regret.

If people are too damn lazy to read past the blaring title of a product, perhaps they deserve a big helping of regret.

Besides, what makes you think anyone who would buy this without reading the basic specs of the product would bother reading comments here?

    "7500 Lumen" yeah right.

  • Previous deal linked is not same model btw

This model importantly lacks keystone adjustment it looks like which is a big deal breaker for many

  • This is one of the most recommended projectors for sewing, and one of the few available in AU. It’s been recently usurped by the Yoton/Akiyo from Amazon US which works out slightly cheaper, but this is more convenient and a decent price drop.

    • What do you do with it? Project patterns onto the fabric or something?

      • +4

Yes that’s exactly what it’s for. This model has a very low throw ratio and minimum distance, which matters more than high resolution or keystone adjustment (which you’d want to avoid doing)

        • -4

          whoosh

        • How low is the throw out of interest?

  • +1

    Landfill

  • I got a 1080p projector for around $60-70 and after some tweaking with colour and picture mode it's perfectly watchable at night with my chromecast attached. I would suggest to get a 1080p at minimum and give this one a pass. I did some research and you can get this one for not that more.

    GROVIEW Projector, 15000lux 490ANSI Native 1080P WiFi Bluetooth Projector, 300'' Video Projector, Supports 4K & Zoom, 5G Sync, Compatible with HDMI USB/AV/Smartphone/Pad/Laptop/DVD/TV Stick/ PS5 https://amzn.asia/d/guxXOTX

FYI I just saw some online review of this unit which was positive so don't buy based on my suggestion as I have not used it myself.

  • was looking for a cheap projector so bought this one couple months back, not worth, brightness was so low
