  • If you're thinking of plugging that directly into a PS4 to get a connection, it won't work.

Can't you just used your phone as a hotspot?

    • just bought a boost starter pack this-morning, hotspot doesn't show up on the ps4

  • If you want to go the mobile broadband route, you will need a hotspot. Something akin to, but not necessarily this.

That, or hotspot from your phone like yippy suggested.

How well it will work, I cannot tell you. It will largely depend on the provider and their reception in your area.

  • +1 for using your mobile as a hotspot

If you don't want to do that, the USB modem won't work cause it needs to install drivers to the OS and the PS doesn't allow that. you need to get a portable wifi modem like this https://www.optus.com.au/mobile/tablets/zte/zte-mu5001-5g?co…

But my suggestion is to buy one not from a telco, buy one from lets say officeworks then buy a sim only data plan to put in.

Just keep in mind, if you do alot of gaming on the PS online, you may go through alot of data and it might cost you alot in sim data.

If you have home internet with alot of data or unlimited data, then get a wifi modem but if you need to go portable, just be aware of the data used for the PS and how much is gonna cost you in data sim plans.

  • Just also be aware that if your wanting to go to regional areas your going to want a Telstra network backed Sim card either through them directly or a reseller as in some more remote areas Telstra still have the best coverage.
Optus is ok if your near a major regional city but as soon as you venture out of town the signal just drops.
