If you have an Optus service (ie genuine Optus, not an Amaysim, TPG, etc), then Optus should give you more help. Optus should have the details of the dealer. If it's not trading anymore, you'll need Optus' help to sort it out as even if you find contact details, you're unlikely to be able to call a business that isn't there!

If Optus didn't say the dealer is not trading.

I would try m8 telecom first. The only number I can find is their dealer support line. 1300 88 26 38

Since you're in Victoria, you may also want to try a company that has a vaguely similar name.

    m8 mobile stop (03) 9546 1222

Since 3 of the registered Mobile Link's are in Victoria. So could be a case of a trading name vs a registered name. Might be a coincidence that they have similar names so don't go blaming m8 mobile stop :-)

    ABR search

Try and resolve it with Optus first, you'll probably have more luck. And worse case, complain to the TIO.

  • thanks guys. yes i do have optus account directly with optus. i check my account very rarely. today, i found there are 2 additional numbers that i didn't recognize. call optus, at first the operator give me the dealer code only, i ask the operator and she said she can't find any details of this dealer. I wasn't happy with the answer then I spoke with her supervisor then the supervisor gave me the dealer name and she said that this dealer is not trading any more. I have asked her to disconnect those numbers.

then i report to my local police station and being told as no loss occur as the matter the other two additional numbers are prepaid, so no further investigation required. As the officer said possibility that mistaken identity by the dealer.

I have lodge formal complain to optus, as I want get formal report, how they dealer can access my details, where I never been to their dealer shop and never heard this dealer name. Once I got that response then I will lodge to TIO. thanks again guys for your help.
