Regarding the recent 15% off Ultimate eGift Cards, wondering if anyone has tried purchasing gift cards at OW?
Looking to find out if its possible to split $500 to purchase?
$9 fee seems reasonable considering could use this gift card to purchase others from supermarkets.

Officeworks updated their website in December 2022 to highlight their gift card policy. In short, it says you cannot use any “gift card” to purchase a gift card (and Officeworks uses a very broad definition of “gift card” that covers Ultimate gift cards).
Officeworks started putting up signs in front of their instore checkouts around the same time to tell customers they cannot use gift cards to purchase gift cards.
Officeworks started rolling out an update to their instore checkouts in June 2023 to automatically block anyone from using an Ultimate gift card to purchase any gift cards. Attempting to do this will see an Invalid Product Mix error message pop up on the EFTPOS terminal, plus the staff member will see a message on their screen saying that you cannot use a gift card type payment method. I have tried this a few times since June 2023 using different mobile wallets and different types of Ultimate gift cards and attempting to purchase different gift cards, but I have run into the blocks. So has this person recently.
Officeworks has probably blocked people from using Ultimate gift cards to pay for gift cards sold on their online. Two people reported during the recent 15% off Ultimate eGift Card deal it did not work. Also this person.
I have no idea whether Officeworks can (and does) accept Ultimate gift cards over the phone. Someome told me it does not work, but did not elaborate further.
In terms of split payments, I am not sure whether it is currently possible to do split payments when purchasing a gift card at Officeworks. The instore checkouts allowed this in late 2022, but I ran into a couple of Officeworks staff members who flat-out refused a split payments request. It could have changed now for all I know…
