NOTE: for some reason the link I put in goes to somewhere else, just search Borderlands 2 (Steam-версия) on the page the link sends you too.Probably because part of the URL is russian and it automatically changes it…

2ND NOTE: No VPN, Proxy, or similar is require to activate this. So no bans.

3RD NOTE: Damnit, now many notes am I going to make? The site states "Multiplayer will be possible only with the owners of the Russian version of Borderlands 2." But as far as I can tell, it works just fine with normal ROW versions. Just make sure you install "Borderlands 2" not "Borderlands 2 RU"

Firstly, this site is in Russian. Use google chrome's automatic translate feature, makes it much easier. I'll be posting a tutorial to make it easier right here in the description

YuPlay is selling a Borderlands 2 CD key for only 550 Rubles, which is around $18 USD. Even cheaper than that previous deal for $19.50. As far as I can tell, yuplay is legit, seen several people buy from here with no problems. It's a legit russian retailer. The key you get will activate two games in your library - Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 2 RU. So, how do you purchase?

First, create a account. Top right corner of the page there is a drop down box, click it and select english. This only translates part of the site to English, for example the game description is still in Russian. Makes registering hell of a lot easier though. Click "Registration" , just below the drop down box, and register. Fairly self explanatory. No need to fill out the "Additional Information"

Login, go back to the BL2 page. Click on the yellow button on the right side, and click the visa logo. Note, if you used chromes automatic google translate, the price shows up as 549 pounds for some reason, it's just a bug. Put it back into russian if you're worried, click the yellow button and it'll say 549 py6 (rubles).

A page will appear, saying Pay via RBK Money. RBK money is legit, usually meant for Russians / Ukranians, but it should work fine. I have heard that certain american credit cards as well as debit cards don't work, but your's should. Fill out the form on RBK (pretty self explanatory), and there, you've purchased the game. Note, you pay in Rubles, not USD or AU, the actual price of the game may vary on your exchange rates, etc.

Where do I find my CD KEY?

Under the Language selection box, it'll say My Purchases (you obviously have to be logged in). Click that, it should show your last 5 purchases, where BL2 will be. Click Show Code. You get 2 keys. "Borderlands 2 Registration" and "Activation Code". I have no idea what the activation code is for, Multiplayer seems to work fine without it. "Borderlands 2 Registration" is your steam redeemable key. Activate it on steam. When you activate it, it'll say RU version, but don't worry, as I said - 2 games will show up in your library. Install the normal "Borderlands 2" one.

      They do, but just a heads up that some games will have regional restrictions. For example on their Skyrim page it says:

      Region: Russia, CIS (to activate and start the game)

      I have no idea about other games, but I do know that with Russian Skyrim you need use a Russian IP address every time you play the game, which the above seems to verify.

      I assume some games may also be Russian language too?

      I personally would be thoroughly researching whether a game has restrictions or not and is english, as once in your Steam account you cannot remove it, and if it works the same as Left4Dead2, you cannot overwrite it with a copy from another country.

      last time I used one of these cheap european CD key sites there was somebody running around with a copy of my credit card in France a couple of weeks later. it wasnt this site but it was an apparently legit one, I think the bargain was posted here.

      Yep, got a key for myself and a friend, both running flawlessly.

      The fact it's in your steam list indicates it's an issue with your computer as opposed to the version being an issue.

    RBK doesn’t like my credit cards. It wants me to use MasterCard/visa's SecureCode system except I haven’t signed up for them. The Sign up window gets displayed but the register later option doesn’t work and registration for it doesn’t work.
    Did the people that purchased with Visa or Mastercard already have SecureCode setup?

      Tried again from home, CBA Mastercard card worked. Looks like a problem with their integration of the verified by visa system.

    Everything worked as advertised. I was even able to use my roommate's disk copy to install the English version onto steam with the code I received. I have also successfully played multilayer with someone on my friends list AND with some random (non Russian) players through matchmaking. This is a great deal, and the only price you pay is having Borderlands 2 RU sitting under Borderlands 2 in your steam game list. Which I think is a perfectly valid price to pay for a $54 saving.

    Have not purchased the season pass, but I'm confident the DLC will work just as smoothly as everything else.

    For those having trouble with making payment via RBK, I ended up buying from this ozbargain post: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80385

    The price is around USD19.94 and they take payment via Paypal (looks like they have had a price reduction since the OP was created)

    Image of the key was provided straight away (link was added to the purchase screen). I've activated on steam and played a couple of hours last night. (I can see both "Borderlands 2" and "Borderlands 2 RU" in my games library)

    This is the first key i have bought outside of steam, so hopefully is keeps working.
