30% Discount on Flightfox Fee

Moved to Forum: Original Link

My referral link's below, which is good for a 30% discount.

Flightfox is a site where 'flight experts' compete to find the best fares, especially on complicated routes. This is done through a combination of intelligent routing, promo codes and knowledge of the cheapest sites.
Be specific as you like with requirements and experts will try hard to satisfy them as they're competing for a finder's fee.

Here's the link for a 30% discount: http://flightfox.com?referral=16686

Please indicate what are the costs to use this service…

See the previous deal, it's about $20-$40.

So we need to use your referral link to get the "discount"
No mention in FAQ,etc to tell you what the fees for the service are.
It appears you actually have to sign up & post a "contest"
to see what the Finder Fee is (from "current contests" it's anywhere between $24-$100).

Anyone can set themselves up to give referrals which are %25 back (referrer) + %25 off (referee)
    http://flightfox.com/referrals
So you'd be better to setup two accounts, give yourself a referral, as you'd get %25 off & %25 back.

Not sure how the OP's post is really is much of a deal, except to give themselves money?

    • 30% is better than 25% isn't it :)?

@supabrudda- what you're suggesting is essentially fraud. Also, it wouldn't work since the minimum withdrawal is $50.

As a flight expert I know how much money we save people, genuinely believe in the service and the competition (5-10 experts per flight) ensures that you get the best deal possible.

      • 25% + 25% > 30%

I agree with Mattgal, it appear to be referral spam.
You're not a rep, you're just advertising your referral like.

I have no disagreement that the service may have merit for some people who are time poor or have a complicated itinerary.
But this is OzBargains, not OzReferral Ads.

Actually, it is OzBargain, OzBargains is a cybersquatter. ;)

The issue is there is no way to get the 30% off without using a referral. Anyone could have posted the 30% off deal but they didn't. The 25% off deal seemed to be popular.

It's a good idea, but as I am (and probably others here) a FlightFox "Expert" and a poster here, you may as well post your flight query on the Find me a Bargain or the Travel forum. Free!

This seems like a good concept. Not sure why it's getting so much hate.

Probably more for the forums as it's not a bargain though.

  • No definite deals - moving this to the forums

  • I have used flightfox three times and have found them to be fantastic. If you are travelling to multiple destinations or have a complicated itinerary I am confident they will save you money. One of my "contests" did not produce a result and they happily and quickly refunded the fee. The fee varies but is usually around $40 so the discount is useful. A friend of mine was quoted $2500 recently for a trip to Europe and flightfox found the flights for $1800 so the fee was worth it. Have a browse of their contests to get an idea of how it works.

    • Thanks for the feedback!
It's always great to hear about people saving money with FlightFox.

i used them once and never again was told i could save money with a flight to hong kong from sydney, 7 people found me flights that were more expensive than i would find them.
Would never use these people ever again
easier and cheaper to do it yourself
