      If it's just plugged in and placed on a table it's probably not much different, but if it's plugged in and handled or placed in a bag I imagine there would be more strain on the plug or socket since it's a large bulky thing being held in by a small plug.

    Can anyone advise whether use of these 3rd party accessories (non-certified apple) i.e powerbank, cables etc degrades mobile battery fairly quickly.

      No reason they'd degrade the phone battery quickly. Heat and charging speed are the main causes of battery degradation.

    I don't see how to use this without stressing out the phone's port. Looks like if you put it down on a flat surface while plugged in it will hold the bottom of the phone off the surface, and any phone usage/tapping would stress it further?

    I'd hope the port on this device breaks before it kills the phone's port.

      If you use it with a case on your phone the battery should sit flush with the case, thereby taking the stress off the port itself. Obviously it depends on how thick your phone's case is.
